Experience description:

I don't know why I was pulled from my body. I was told to lay down - and did so, obediently. I felt a sensation stemming from the very tip of my fingers and could see two hands holding my spirit hands, pulling me out of the body. Once out of the body I was floating over my 3 year old who was playing on the floor with her toy horses. As I watched her, I realized this is what happens when you die. I started to panic. Not at being dead, but the fact that I couldn't leave my child. I verbalize that I couldn't leave her and I had to stay. Then, a voice from behind me said, 'It's all going to be ok'. When they spoke those words over me, I felt my entire soul get washed with complete love and reassurance. I had no more doubt or worry when they spoke those words. It's almost as if it was an acceptance or letting go because as soon as I was bathed in that absolute love and peace, I started to rise upward. I could see the wood fibers of the roof boards as I passed through them. Almost on a molecular level. I could see the shingles the same way. As soon as my spirit body was free of the confines of the building, I was in what I took to be space, in the blink of an eye. I was standing there, in pure darkness, no stars or light of any kind, but I had no fear. I felt like I was in space but it was all black in every direction. I felt like I was waiting on something. I was giddy and excited like a kid at Christmas. I felt nothing bad whatsoever. Unfortunately, what ever happened next, whatever discussion was had, I was not allowed to bring it back with me. My next moment I was back in the body opening my eyes. I got up, walked into the next room, and my daughter was playing with her toys just as I had left her.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   Uncertain  I don't know why I was pulled from my body. I was told to lay down - and did so, obediently. Was the experience difficult to express in words?  No    

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?         The entire time that I can recall. I remember it like it happened yesterday.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      More consciousness and alertness than normal   I had a knowing. I knew this is what happens when you die like I know how to breathe. I knew I was waiting for someone or something although nobody told me that. I knew I was in space although it did not look like our galaxy full of stars and light.

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   I could see with extreme clarity and I could see what wood and shingles were made of on a cellular level as I passed through them.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   I only heard two things. The voice that told me to lay down seemed to come from within but was not me. The voice that said 'It's all going to be ok' came from behind me but I felt it more than I heard it. The words washed me of my fear and worry.

Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   Yes   I observed my daughter playing on the floor with her toy horses. I was looking down on her from above.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   Panic at first, then complete love and reassurance, followed by excitement.  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No  

Did you see an unearthly light?   No  

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
I was worrying about leaving my daughter saying I can't leave her when a voice from behind me said 'It's all going to be ok'.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   No  

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?   No  

Did you become aware of past events in your life during your experience?   No  

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   Some unfamiliar and strange place
I knew it was space but it did not seem to be a/our galaxy. It was devoid of stars and light. But I knew to my core it was space.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down?   Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning
No time seemed to have passed once I was back in my body. My daughter was exactly where I left her.

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   No

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   No

Did you come to a border or point of no return?   No

Did scenes from the future come to you?  No 

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (“life after death”)?   Yes   Yes, I had a knowing that this is what happens when you die and I was pulled out of my body/guided by an angel or being.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that God or a supreme being either does (or does not) exist?   Uncertain   I knew I was waiting for someone and I felt like it was God, but I was not allowed to retain that memory.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  I shared it soon after it happened but was met with rejection and disbelief.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   Uncertain   I did not study it or know the term but I have memories from early childhood that seem to point to out of body experiences as a young child during trauma.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   It was more real than my ordinary existence.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   It is just as real to me now as the day it happened.
