Experience description:

After much thinking and many many years, I’ve finally opted to write down this story. It took even more time to actually understand the meaning of this special 'dream' of mine. I call it 'dream' because it occurred while I was sleeping. In that state I have had several OBEs and NDE-like type of experiences but I have always known that in this particular case there was more to it… My problem was that I could not figure out which elements would make it so different….

There was a black environment… and there were 'beings' that in time I have come to call 'technicians' which were clearly busy doing 'something'. A major quality of these 'beings' was that they looked like 'shadows' very much in tune with the black void which made up the overall environment. All of a sudden these 'beings' brought about a casket. This casket was 'special' in the sense that it was a very simple one. It was neither a gold nor a precious casket: its main characteristic was one of being solid, of being 'of substance'. Still... it did fit well with the dark environment in which this scene was taking place.

All of a sudden, someone opened the casket. Inside - laid at its center like a precious jewel - there was what I would call some sort of a colored medal made up of a semi-solid substance. In fact, it was more than that because out of the blue this 'medal' became alive just like the colors of which it was made up. Its colors became extraordinarily vivid, fluid, splendid, they rose up in the air, they were many and magnificent. What was most extraordinary about all this was the incredible contrast between the dark background, the shadow-and-shadowed-beings and the show (or performance) that these colors were putting on. After a while, I kind of observed that this 'colored essence' which had been sort of liberated by opening the casket, was being trapped once again by the beings. Even now I can still see in my mind the final scene in which one of these 'shadows' took this 'essence' and managed to push it through some dark hole. That was it!

After much research, I have come across the phenomenon of the pre-birth experiences and nowadays I am convinced that in that extraordinary dream, I have seen some scenes possibly related to my own pre-birth experience. Perhaps the final moments on the 'other side', the 'technical' parts.

However, several questions which do not find any satisfactory answer still haunt me to this day:

-         Why the casket was such a 'solid' one? Why not a gilded one more in line with the 'jewel' it contained?

-         Why the 'colored essence' had been kept in the casket? For how long it had been there?

-         Why the 'shadow beings' appeared like dark two-dimensional beings as compared to the multi-dimensional and vivid quality of the 'colored essence'? Shouldn't they be made of the same essence?

-         Why did the shadow-being push the colored-essence through the dark cavity? Where did those incredible colors end up?

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?      No     

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words?          Yes    The brilliance and vitality of the colors trapped within the casket. It is impossible to describe such a scene

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event? No     

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?    Technically I was sleeping

            Was the experience dream like in any way?  I was sleeping but there was clarity of vision in the experience

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?   Uncertain     I was an interested observer

What emotions did you feel during the experience?         I guess just passive curiosity

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?         None

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?         No     

Did you see a light?        No     

Did you meet or see any other beings?         Uncertain     I saw the shadow-beings but as an observer I did not interact with them

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state?         No     

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No     

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? No     

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?     Uncertain     Definitely it was not an earth-like realm

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?         No     

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?           No     

Did you become aware of future events?      No     

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?          No      Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?            Uncertain     I have a strong oneiric activity with 'dreams' which sometimes are more like OBE's and NDE's

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?     No     

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?   There was no impact also because it took a long time to give some sort of 'meaning' to this vision

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? No     

Have you shared this experience with others?          Uncertain     I have made sure I will not forget it

What emotions did you experience following your experience? When I finally got to understand it.. the answered questions bothered me a lot. They still bother me.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?          The best part was having an idea of what may have happened at pre-birth.
