Kat B's Son's Experience

Experience description:

I have had my own interesting experiences but this story is about my son, not me. He told me when he was 3, and again recently, (he is now 13), that he remembers everything about being born. He described completely accurately the layout of the hospital room, the # of nurses that were in the room, where they were standing\positioned, and the fact that the doctor missed the actual birth and came into the room just after he was born. The interesting thing about it all is that not once did we ever talk about his  birth or the nurses or anything of the sort, so there was no "help from us", but he remembered everything exactly the way it was.

He also told me when he was 2 1\2 that "he was an old soul", and that he "had been around before", then he went back to playing with his Lego's just as if he'd never said anything at all. He just came into the room, stated this very matter-of-factly and then left. I find it odd that a toddler would even know to say that.

We are not a religious family, although we do believe in a higher universal power, and we don't talk about religion but when my son was 6 and was starting at a new daycare, on his first day he looked at the daycare lady, noticed the cross she wore on her necklace and said "Christ pain." This shocked her and I as he wasn't taught yet about what the cross signified. Lastly but not least, ever since he was a tiny tyke until a few years ago he had a friend named "George". I used to think it was just an imaginary friend, but my son is not the  type to have imaginary friends, he is just far too practical. (takes after his dad that way :-) "George" only came around when he was sad, lonely, scared, or bored and the last time he remembers seeing\talking to "George" was when he was 10. My son says "George" is gone now, because "George" said my son didn't need him anymore, but another boy did."

I wonder what it is about my son that made him know all this or if it's all just unexplainable? I do recall when my son was 7 months old and we were at a Christmas Mass that the Archbishop of Canada attended, he looked at my son and said "this child is blessed." I didn't really put much thought into that but after thinking about all the things my son has talked about, maybe there's some truth???
