Experience description:

I was an atheist and did not believe in religion, or God. Now I am a spiritual seeker!

I have no idea what happened to me, and I wish someone could tell me!  While I was sleeping, I had a 'dream' - although it wasn't a dream. I wish I had better words to describe this.  A 'being' was with me, although I didn't see it, I felt it.  It filled me with so much intense love!!! This is why I know it wasn't a dream - I couldn't have dreamed this love - it just doesn't exist in this world.  It was unconditional, overwhelming (in a very good way), and beautiful. So. Much. Love!!!! I felt at home with this 'being' - like I had come home.  It gave me the big picture so I would understand why I was here. I got it, but I can't tell you what it was now - but it made a lot of sense at the time.  The being told me that everything will be fine and everything is as it should be.  I woke up with such a sense of well being. I knew immediately that what I experienced was not a dream, but some sort of visitation. Right away I KNEW there was life after death, or something more than this world and I knew I was just a little part of it. I got the sense that we are all apart of it and that being either came from it or was the source of it.

For six months or so, I began to look up psychics on YouTube and the internet when I had time.  Nothing explained what happened to me.  Once I found the NDErs, - I found there were so many similarities!  I began to wonder if I had died in my sleep?!?! (I had heard the term before, but I didn't relate it to anything metaphysical).

After, I feel a need to recalibrate the way I live, to adjust my thinking - especially when people challenge my happiness :).  Before, it didn't matter, but now, I know that I'm most likely not alone and my thoughts are just as important as my deeds.  I have a lot to learn and am enjoying that journey.

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:   I am trying to find a religion that fits with my experience.  The closest I have found is Hinduism.  I am learning more about that.  After reading other people's similar experience and from the idea of 'feeling' with this being, I think I need to pay more attention to my thoughts and deeds.  Especially my thoughts.

My experience directly resulted in:   Moderate changes in my life
