Experience description:

In a prayer the other day, I felt Jesus wanted me to come here and share my story.

At the time of this experience, I was nearing a end to my marriage. My wife and I were in a very bad argument and I was very emotionally upset. She was on her way out the door, when I laid down on the bed to pray.

While she was still standing in the room, Jesus descended down into the room. I asked my wife if she saw it and she said, 'No.' I asked her to leave as something very powerful was happening and I wanted to give it my full attention.

From my point of view, I looked up to the upper corner, right side of the room, where a angelic figure was coming down into my bedroom. He had his hands up and looked left and right as if to be stepping in between two people arguing.

The next thing I know, I was being held and ministered to a being I felt was Jesus. I cannot say how long it lasted, and I do not remember any of what Jesus was saying to me. After however long this lasted, I drifted off into a restful sleep.

Soon after this, my wife and I separated and soon divorced. The event was so powerful, it has stuck with me every sense as a very vivid memory. I will go to my grave believing what happened to me was VERY SUPER NATURAL. I cannot say it changed me after the event, for me, it confirmed what I was raised to believe. For me, the experience is etched in stone.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down? Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning. I cannot say how time went, but I know I did not want the experience to end; but when It did, I was very content.

Were your senses More vivid than usual? Incredibly more vivid

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. For me, it was the same visual acuity as normal except maybe a little fuzzier. Maybe it’s the time sense it happened, but I was awake and fully aware of what was happening.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience. Muffled. The only thing I heard were the words of Jesus. Unfortunately, either I cannot remember or he blocked me from remembering. But I knew it had to do with what I was about to go through with my divorce. That was not in the talks at the time this event took place.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? PURE LOVE! No better way to say it.

What was your religion prior to your experience? Christian- Protestant I was raised in a Christian home and attend church often as a child.

Have your religious practices changed since your experience? No

What is your religion now? Christian- Protestant Being raised in a Christian home, I have always believed in Christ and the afterlife.

Did your experience include features consistent with your earthly beliefs? Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience. The church talks of his love for us but fail to express how great it is; as I do know now. It’s one thing to say I'm loved, but being in the presence of Jesus - there are no words. Imagine the BEST LOVE STORY EVER told as it pales in comparison to what is felt in his presence.

Did you have a change in your values and beliefs because of your experience? No

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice? No

Did you see deceased or religious spirits? No

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)? Yes I certainly feel it was Jesus Christ. There was a long robe, soft touch and a VERY CALMING nature to him. So much so, it was unexpected, humbling and VERY LOVING! I saw his face, but I cannot describe it. I saw his long hair, maybe above his shoulders and the color was lighter than dark.

During your experience, did you gain information about premortal existence? Yes either I forgot, or I was not allowed to remember it. But we certainly had a conversation, mostly from Jesus. I was drowning, metaphorically, in the love and compassion I felt.

During your experience, did you gain information about universal connection or oneness? Yes It was very obvious to me that there is more to this world than we know. It was way beyond our understanding. For Jesus to be able to descend into my room and only I could see and feel him.

During your experience, did you gain information about the existence of God? Uncertain There was nothing to lead me to believe God was or was not present or real. Just a consult from Jesus.

During your experience, did you gain special knowledge or information about your purpose? Uncertain I do not remember. Either not allowed to remember, or lost to time. Although I feel that I was not allowed to remember.

During your experience, did you gain information about the meaning of life? Uncertain I do not remember.

During your experience, did you gain information about an afterlife? No

During your experience, did you gain information about life’s difficulties, challenges and hardships? Uncertain I do not remember.

During your experience, did you gain information about love? Yes I felt immense love and compassion. Indescribable. GREAT! Profound Again, words fail me to adequately describe.

What life changes occurred in your life after your experience? Moderate changes in my life Other than Confirming my belief, it hasn’t changed me very much. I know there is a greater love waiting for me, so great a love that I cannot duplicate here on earth. It’s hard to try to set that standard as my own when I cannot define it.

Have your relationships changed specifically because of your experience? No

After the NDE:

Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes Thru the years, I have tried to find words to explain the level of LOVE and COMPASSION I felt that evening and There are none I can find to even come close to those levels. The comfort I felt when Jesus held me was so warm, I often pray to this day and meditate on that feeling to help me fall asleep now.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience? I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience I remember the love and compassion felt greater than anything I have ever experienced in life to date. Remembering the way he held me still puts me to sleep to this day.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience? No

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you? The greatest feelings of love ever felt. Words fail to define how great that love is.

Have you ever shared this experience with others? Yes 20 years, and a modest, oh I believe you saw something. I don’t tell it much because this was not associated with a NDE and fear people will not believe me.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience? Yes Mainly rumors, I was skeptical of NDE's but found them interesting.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened? Experience was definitely real As real as any other day. The clarity at which it happened can only be described as without a doubt in my mind. I have believed that the day after, until this day. I will carry that to my grave waiting to meet Jesus again. It’s something I look forward to.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience now? Experience was definitely real As I believe now, the experience was as real if not more real than life itself.
