Experience description:

My story is particular in the sense, that I had a witness to my out of body and near death experience, and I told that person about it all as it evolved.

When I was 20 years old, I had a very serious case of the mumps.

I started to recover after 10 days. I had no fever, but I was tired.

My mother was in the same room as I, ironing some clothes and watching over me.

I was resting and talking to my mother at the same time. Eyes closed.

Suddenly I see a man standing on my right side smiling at me. He wore clothes resembling those, I'd imagine a  Bedouin would be wearing.

I tell my mother about this.

Then suddenly he stretches out his hand, and as if taken by surprise, I instinctively reach out for it, and I realize, that my hand is still lying on the matter, but the hand, that I feel is mine, the hand that I can feel with, has moved out of my real hand and arm.

My mother later tells me, that I said: 'mom, mom - my arm is flying all on it's own'.

The Bedouin then pulls me completely out of my body.

I told my mother to listen carefully, because this was out of the ordinary, and I wanted her to remember, so she could tell me about it afterwards. So I kept talking to her all the while, I wandered of with the man holding my right hand.

We walked for some time on a kind of dirt road in the mountains with a valley to the right.

I could hear my voice talking from behind me. It was my physical body talking, and the voice was getting fainter the further we moved away from it.

My mothers voice also got more faint.

I was connected to my body by a silvery line from navel to navel.

It felt marvelous and quite right at the same time.

Time was not existing or of no concern to me.

My mind was completely calm and aware.

I felt realy good being with my companion, and I was convinced, that I had know him 'for ever'.

There was an eternal love between us in a very gentle way. He was wise and indulgent with me.

I knew, that we were going somewhere, that would be absolutely wonderful, but at the same time, I also knew, it would be endlessly surprising and irrevocable.

At some point we reached a sort of wall, that we had to pass through. Not by a door, but by walking right through the wall.

I knew instinctively, that there is no turning back, if I go through the wall.

I also expected there to be great bliss on the other side as well as a staggering surprise.

I could feel, that my other body needed to pee.

I knew, that if I went through the barrier, the silver string would be broken, and I would pee in the bed.

Somehow that mattered to me, and I let go of my companions hand, as he started to pass through the wall, and immediately, I was sucked backwards, and it felt as if I fell for a very long time.

I have tried many times to sort of fall 2-3 meters down, when I was on the brink of falling asleep, but this took much longer, before I landed in my body. I was like falling several hundred meters.

I was so happy to have meet this special person, but also extremely unhappy, that I had not followed him all the way.

The rest of the day and the following days I spent all my time to try and escape my body, but I couldn't without the help of my friend.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   No

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  No

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?      All the time 100% conscious.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      More consciousness and alertness than normal   My head was very clear, my mind focused.

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   Same vision as my everyday vision.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   Same hearing as everyday hearing, but the sound from the oprdinary world was getting fainter, the futher I walked.

Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   Yes   I didn't see anything from my everyday, earthly world, but I could hear my mother talking to me, and I could hear my own, earthly voice behind me, fading into the distance.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   Joy, togetherness

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No

Did you see an unearthly light?   No

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
I was greeted by a man, that I can best describe as my guardian angel.

I had met him many times before, surely.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   Yes   I would think, that a Christian would have described the person, I met, as Jesus.

But to me he was more like a very wise and ancient being, that no longer had to be born into this world.

He was definately there to help me on my way, as he had done many times before.

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?

Did you become aware of past events in your life during your experience?   No

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   Some unfamiliar and strange place

I walked along a mountain road with a valley to my right, holding the hand of my companion.

It was like southern Europe.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down?   No

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   No

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   Yes
After some time me and my companion reached a sort of wall or dam to my left.

Did you come to a border or point of no return?   I came to a definite conscious decision to return to life
At some point we reached a sort of wall, that we had to pass through.

(from my complete description of the event)

Did scenes from the future come to you?  No

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (“life after death”)?   Yes   I knew during the whole experience, that life is eternal.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that God or a supreme being either does (or does not) exist?   No

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that you either did (or did not) exist prior to this lifetime?   Yes   I have met my companion in previous lives and he was also my guardian during an LSD-trip some years earlier, when I had a full death and rebirth experience.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that a mystical universal connection or unity/oneness either does (or does not) exist?   Uncertain   I knew, that there is a oneness, but I think this could because that's what I felt during my LSD-trip some years earlier, when I met my guardian and he took me through all the important details of my life and of my future and especially of my karma.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness regarding earthly life’s meaning or purpose?   No

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness regarding earthly life’s difficulties, challenges, or hardships?   No

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness regarding love?   Yes   I felt immense love for my companion.

During your experience, did you encounter any other specific information / awareness that you have not shared in other questions that is relevant to living our earthly lives?   Yes   We live this life to learn and to evolve and become better beings. Karma is real.

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge or purpose?   Yes   Only when we become older, more experienced souls, are we allowed to know about former lives, since that knowledge would interfere with our current work to get better karma.

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was entirely consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience as accurately as other life events that occurred around the time of the experience.   The experience was vivid in my mind for a long time, and I also told it all to my mother, but this happened 45 yeas ago, and my memory is not good anymore in general. I wrote it down at the time.

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:   The greatest change in life occurred at the age of 18, when I had a religious experience during an LSD-trip. This changed my life entirely, so that's why this NDE did not change me, since it was 'just' a natural occurrence compared to what I had learned before. So questions 43-49 are answered with regard only to this NDE. So when I select 'I did not fear death', then that's because I already had experienced death two years earlier on an LSD-trip, and that was definitely the most rewarding and blissful thing, I have ever experienced. Being presented with my karma was in between death and a new birth, and it was not pleasant, but my guardian ensured me, that the purpose of it all was to develop and become a better being.

My experience directly resulted in:   Moderate changes in my life

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?
Uncertain   My beliefs changed two years earlier, after an LSD-trip.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   No

Have you ever shared this experience with others?
Yes  I told my mother, while I was having the experience. She is not religious in any way, and she said afterwards, that the story, I told her during the experience did not make any sense to her. She preferred not to talk about it.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   Yes   I had a religious experience two year earlier, where I went through death, saw my entire life with my guardian in front of a panel of wise beings that helped me understand my actions and the karma, I have. After that I was born again into this life. After that I spent a lot of time reading about mostly eastern religion and related subjects. Because of this, I wasn't really surprises by the NDE. I was pleased, but sorry I interrupted it. I knew about NDE and I do not think if affected the experience.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   It was 100% real. I was conscious during the entire experience and reflective about what was going on.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   Same as above.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   Uncertain

Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Changed two years earlier, after an LSD-trip. Just confirmed by this new encounter with my 'guardian angel'.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience?   Yes

Did the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?   Nothing to explain   When more people read about NDE and related things, they will be less embarrassed to talk about them, I guess.
