Experience description  3445:

I was reading https://www.oberf.org/julie_t_sobes.htm and found her experience to be much like mine. I had never known anyone who had a similar experience and for a similar reason. Mine too started out as going to bed as a very young child and being unable to sleep. After a few minutes a cone type thing would appear. It was made of little white things that I was never able to figure out what they were. They were a transparent white material and they looked like little toys, or at least that's what I thought they might be. I felt God gave them to me because I couldn't sleep and it was something to do. This cone was as long as my bed (twin), and circled me and part of my bed. It went on for what seems the whole early part of my childhood. I would go to bed, and wait a few moments knowing it would appear, and it always did. Later I began questioning it in my mind. I tested it at one point. One night when I went to sleep in my mom's room instead of my own (my dad was overseas), I wondered if it would appear and it did. I wondered too if when my mother came to bed, if it would cover her too, or circle around her too. I expected it to stretch over her but it surprised me by keeping it's shape and scaling itself to accommodate her (I had fallen asleep but woke up when she came to bed). It was so big in its scaling that it went above the ceiling. I could see it up through the ceiling. I wondered if I could see it under me one night and sat up to check this. It disappeared into my mattress about four inches and came up on the other side about four inches from inside the mattress. This intrigued me, that I could actually see it down inside the mattress. It was kind of mind-blowing. It always rotated around me and part of my bed at the same speed. It was just one long cone shape that rotated always at the same speed. Gently turning. Something told me not to touch it. I think I remember hearing a gentle voice telling me not to but of course one night I tried to reach out anyway even though I knew I was not supposed to. It surprised me again by moving back about two feet. It was done in a twinkle of an eye. I did not see it move. It was just suddenly further away so I could not touch it. I think I eventually was able to fall asleep right away because I no longer saw it but don't recall noticing when it stopped. I didn't even think about it again until years later. To this day I realize these things just don't happen. I know it wasn't my imagination because it was too much the same every night, and had a mind of it's own which it proved to me when doing things in a way that I did not expect (changing size, scaling itself, moving away from me, etc.). A beautiful experience to recall.

Was the experience dream like in any way?  Not at all.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?   No

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?         I think I heard a voice telling me not to touch it.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?         No

Did you see a light?        No

Did you meet or see any other beings?         Uncertain          Sometimes I think it was a being of light taking form as a circle. It had a mind. It was organized and would do things in an organized way. It was gentle.

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state?         No

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? Yes    I could see through things I guess. I could see through the ceiling when the object scaled itself bigger than the room, and I could see into my mattress when I was checking if it was behind me or under me as well as all around me. I remember thinking how amazing that was and spiritual and a little part of me thinking that what they were saying about God and heaven just might be true because here I am, witnessing this very real experience that seemed so spiritual to me, and from God. A small voice thought it just might be my imagination but when the object did things on it's own that were not what I was expecting, such as so steadfastly keeping it's shape and the speed it rotated, I realized with kind of a shock and surprise that it had a mind of it's own, so it had to be from somewhere other than my head.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?  No

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?         Uncertain     A little. I felt that this was something you don't just see every day. I knew it was not of this Earth.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?           Uncertain     I was told very gently not to touch it and I tried and it surprised me by moving away at the blink of an eye.

Did you become aware of future events?      No

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?          No

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         No

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?     Yes    Years later as I recall it, I feel more faith in something other than this world. Things like that don't just happen and especially go on for years.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?   I believe I have more faith and this experience has helped contribute to that. I have told quite a few people when things of this nature are brought up. When telling my dearest friend one day it helped her recall waking up often as a child, in the middle of the night, and there would be animals sitting all over her room. She never questioned it. It just seemed so natural.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? Uncertain     Not sure but as I said in #26 this may have helped lead me to more faith.

Have you shared this experience with others?       Yes          They usually get a knowing look in their eyes when I mention that it was a cone. We then think about the proverbial tunnel. It never occurred to me that the cone and the tunnel could be the same. It wasn't a cone shape that comes to a point, more like just a round long or oblong cone that turned at the same speed, and was made up of little white things. Nothing in between these whites things. Just air.

What emotions did you experience following your experience? Fun, interest, curiosity.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?          Just enjoying it being there was the best. I don't recall anything negative at all.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience? I've always had a lot of faith. I can't help but wonder if this was one of the reasons why.

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?       No

Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?           Yes    But, I could probably elaborate more and offer more such as always looking for those little white things everywhere and what they could possibly have been. I once saw a kids notebook while in school covered with a bunch of little toys such as beach balls, trucks, dolls, kites, etc. and stopped and stared at it wondering if this is what those white things were. I have actually seem other little white things in visions and meditations and couldn't figure out what they were in those either. Nothing like this experience though.

Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.       Maybe a comment section under the experiences? I would love to comment on some of them. But I do understand that this could open a whole new area of work and things that don't apply to your goal here.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION 3444:

As I lay back on the couch I found a very comfortable spot. The couch was uncomfortable to sit on but the most comfortable couch to lie on. Anyway as I was lying down, I heard the familiar energy of out of body or similar and knew I was going to leave my body. I thanked God for it because it was morning, sunny, and I had no fear. I have heard and felt these feelings before at night and it's scary for me. I had not fallen asleep yet when I found myself lifting up AND with my eyes open! Usually they are closed and I can't see anything but this time my eyes were open. I at first witnessed what looked like layers I was going through. I couldn't tell you what those layers were except for one of them. It was water and about four inches high relative to my earthly size. Then I was pulled up and out of these layers up into the air over a landscape and was flying or gliding through the sky. The landscape was all neutral colors such as beige, sand, etc. There were no trees that I could remember or any kind of foliage. Just an almost desert looking landscape but with some kind of construction going on. There were stacks of what looked like long planks. I didn't see any people or hear any noise. It was quiet like hushed even. I looked at my arm and I was still wearing my pink robe. My skin on my hand looked like my own but no wrinkles or spots. Younger I guess. I was absolutely thrilled to be having this experience. Flying through the air. I soon noticed three birds flying about 15 feet away from me and playing in the air. They looked like plain gray pigeons. Maybe a little bigger than a pigeon. Suddenly off in the distance I saw flying through the air a chair. The chair was very bright blue and red. It was shaped kind of like the chairs in a tilt-a-whirl ride and moving the way those chairs do too. We were heading for the same point in space and I knew we would meet. I didn't know exactly what I was supposed to do with the chair. Of course after waking up out of this, and thinking about it, I figured I probably should have sat in it as that's what chairs are for but for some reason I didn't. I held back but studied the chair and tried to touch it. My hand went right through it. The chair was actually shaped like a rose petal with even the curved part of the petal that is closest to the middle of a rose looking like the perfect place to support your head or your neck as you lay back. It looked like it had rows of tiny rose petals making up the whole chair, as if it had a spine with branches forming the chair and on each branch were dozens of tiny rose petals. They looked like they were made of the same plastic that a pinwheel is made of. I then looked at the horizon to see how far this place or space went. It seemed like I was next to an ocean and over the ocean I noticed a gigantic dual Ferris wheel flying through the air, or I should say, floating through the air. It was enormous. It was the same colors as the chair. Very bright blue and red. Later, years later, I realized since the chair and the Ferris wheel were the same colors and the only thing with color in the experience, that the chair was probably supposed to be on the Ferris Wheel? And maybe if I had sat in it it would have flown over there and reattached itself? And maybe my experience would have been altogether different? Soon I noticed an old fashioned rocket looking thing also heading in the same direction as me, or I should say, we were both heading for the same point in space. It had smoke trailing from it and soon that smoke turned black. I looked at the Ferris Wheel and it too had black smoke coming from it and it was falling to the ground. It did hit the ground and bounced gently. I knew the rocket and I were going to meet but it didn't scare me. It did run into me and woke me up into my body. In thinking about it over the years I realized it was an amusement park theme and even the construction going on could have been the park being built? Maybe I wouldn't have seen the rocket and destruction of me and the Ferris Wheel if I had sat in the chair? Maybe it was trying to tell me to join the fun or the crowd and then life would be successful? I just don't know. It was all very real yet I couldn't touch or feel anything, almost like a very defined and clear holograph. Maybe the experience was trying to tell me that I can't do this alone.

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?      No

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words?          No

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event? No

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?    Completely alert and conscious.

Was the experience dream like in any way?  No.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?   Yes    Fun, excitement, going on an adventure.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?         A sense of fun. Joy. Happiness to be able to experience this during the day and to be fully alert and knowing it was not a dream. That it truly was some kind of an experience that we just don't know a whole lot about yet.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?         I don't think so. I just remember a quiet hush. Maybe I heard the birds but I don't remember.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?         No

Did you see a light?        No

Did you meet or see any other beings?         No

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state?         Uncertain

I didn't attempt to move an object but I did reach out to touch it to see if I could feel it.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? Yes    I noticed I could not feel the chair when I reached out to touch it. My hand went through it. I took notice of my own hand and arm and noticed I was still wearing my pink robe that I had been wearing while in my physical body. I took note of my skin on my hand.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?  No

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?         Uncertain     Well, I guess you could say I was experiencing something out of the norm. Something we don't know enough about yet that is not of this world.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?           Uncertain     Well I kind of knew that when the rocket and I met, it would end the experience. I also knew it wouldn't hurt.

Did you become aware of future events?      Uncertain     It just occurred to me as I write this that perhaps it was a message letting me know (or us) that in order for the USA (red and blue) to succeed, we would have to do this together? Maybe not. I just felt after thinking about it and wondering why I had this experience that I would need to join the crowd or destruction would follow? I just don't know. Maybe it would have been one wild ride if I had sat in that chair. Or maybe it would even have been the end of my life and I subconsciously chose not to go? Again, I just don't know. But I think it was a message that we need to do this together. Join the ride maybe. Maybe my family was on the Ferris Wheel.

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?          Uncertain     Not really.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?      No

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?     Uncertain     It opened up even more awareness about the possibilities of there being even more than we are aware of in this life.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?   It hasn't changed that but I do know solidly that a building does not have anything to do with faith. Nothing. It is a gathering of souls looking for something good.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? No

Have you shared this experience with others?       Yes          One particular young lady looked in awe of it. Other's I'm not really sure. I really can't tell what people are thinking but I'm assuming it either wakes up a little more awareness in them or they pass it off quietly as a dream.

What emotions did you experience following your experience? Awe and amazement, and questions too. Like what was it all for? What am I supposed to get from it?

What was the best and worst part of your experience?          Everything was the best, ending it was the worst. I felt no fear at meeting the rocket. I just knew the rocket would end the experience and I really didn't want to end it. It seemed to take maybe four or five minutes of earth time.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience? The colors were very red and very blue. Many people experience this in NDE's too and I know what they mean. The colors were so very rich. I find too that it's kind of cool that the chair was shaped like a rose petal. When you think about it, if a rose petal were the right size it would be a very comfortable chair to sit in.

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?       No

Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?           Yes    Explaining something of course doesn't capture the thrill of the experience. But it was fun to fly. Also, I might add, for some reason the place reminded me of journeying up to San Bernardino from San Diego but without the housing and stuff, without the city. Just the ground. I've always found those San Bernardino mountains kind of magical and I once had a very very lucid dream that also made me feel like I was up around that area. I have no idea why.

Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.       I think it's good that humanity is researching this. I'm curious where we will be with it say hundreds of years from now.
