Experience description:

It all began when dozens of times when I would wake up in the night feeling “something” I want to call or nickname as my soul. Ha ha, sounds fun, but to go through was terrifying, so terrifying that I would sleep with the light on, for almost a year. Well, there came the time in my life during which I spend long hours studying during which my brain was very alert and this feeling of not being able to sleep well, because my brain wouldn't stop working. Then, through a dream, I had my first experience . I “woke up” in the night because I felt like I had been trembling very very hard, my sleep had been interrupted.... I went Upside down) and began to notice it was a powerful trembling, I have never had so bad, my entire vertebral column...

It seemed strange and I touched my back with my hand, I don't remember which one, then because of the impact of feeling myself tremble so much in my spine I stayed staring at the ceiling, something hit me, later, seconds later, I stopped shaking and started to feel very light, like going to sleep in a bed of cotton, then, I tried to touch the bed with my fingers and I realized I wasn't touching it. I looked down at my watch and realized I was some centimeters above the bed. (About 30cm). I began lifting myself up to the ceiling but when I touched it, it was as if I was touching something that was not there, it was dark and it was as if I touched nothing, it was dark, it was a type hole or dimension, I don't know but it seemed like I was going through this dark barrier, it was the universe. Well the truth is that at that moment, I had to decide do I carry on going up, and exit through this hole from the universe or not. I know one path interested me a lot. Nevertheless,

Fear took hold and needing to feel safe, and to return to my physical body. Finally I concentrated on returning to my body, I returned, I think they were some of the most incredible experiences, I was in the dream. Previously I returned and came out of my body, but I had never been able to get that far as this time.

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?
No

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words?          Yes

Yes the first experience that I had, I started floating up to the ceiling, it was dark there, but there was a small bit, in which I could see the Universe, I thought I had to take the decision to carry on floating up to it (the Universe) or if I started to explore my part the house and the homes most familiar to me this time in which in which I had to take the decision. It paralyzed me, because this dark space around me was frightening, nevertheless I knew that being able to return to my body consciously gave me peace. I finally decided to return to my body and wake up. I am unable to explain exactly in words what I saw while on the ceiling of my bedroom. But as I said before, it was a type of hole, in which you could look far away at the Universe, and a part of me wanted to leave and explore.

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event? No

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?

Totally conscious, even from the first moment I thought I that had really woken up because of an Earth tremor. Also I was conscious of a second time, that what I saw was an astral projection and how it was my decision to move where I thought I could go to. Also I knew I was OK (Unusual for me) and that I had to take it easy, not be too frightened, to breathe and fix on my body so as to return to my physical body.

Was the experience dream like in any way?

I didn't think it was like a dream, I have had dreams in which I know I am dreaming many times, but this was really different, something unique.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?

Yes My body started to rise. My other body stayed below, sleeping. I saw myself go up, I saw my body below as I have said, I saw two bodies I suppose that one was my physical body and the other wasn't. I am not very well up on this subject.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?

First I felt peaceful then lonely, floating made me feel peaceful, then when I reached the ceiling I felt anxious, at some point I felt some amount of fear (mild) but mainly I felt good.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?

I don't know for sure.

Did you see a light?        No

Did you meet or see any other beings?         No

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state?         Yes

I saw part of the universe. No planets no beings no asteroids, but I could just see a fraction of the universe, like those that come from a NASA page.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? No

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?     Yes

Yes. I saw from the ceiling there had been a hole or a dimension I had gone through. I ended up in the Universe.

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?         Uncertain

Not knowledge, but yes I can agree it was one of the most transcendental experiences of my life. It was to see and go through it in this form, so consciously while sleeping its no something I will ever forget.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?           Uncertain. At a certain point I needed to concentrate to be able to move this floating body from the place it was floating on the ceiling.

Did you become aware of future events?      No

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?

Yes I was totally conscious at a certain moment I would have to return, even though I didn't know that I needed to return that moment or to continue looking and then come back later, this was my only fear at that time, to go further and maybe not be able to come back easily. So I came back to my body it was a totally conscious decision.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?      No

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?     Uncertain Years ago I was an agnostic. But that which happened made me feel more certain of my religious position. I think things exist that are really inexplicable to science, today, so I find it really hard to refute or affirm some events or situations.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?

I think it has always been the same. I have always been a bit like my father would judge as having strong feelings. It's heard not to read people, so I end up often, as if I won't share much with insincere people, or superficial people. But generally normal.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? No

Have you shared this experience with others?       Yes

Yes. I have shared the experience with my father, my older brother, my partner and 2 friends. Only my father and some of friends who I have told, had the same thing happen to them so they understood, but mainly I don't tell anyone, because I don't want to end up a mad person hahaha I don't think it is as common as I would like, sometimes it's better to maintain privacy in conversations with people that don't believe what happened.

What emotions did you experience following your experience? Normal, there were no changes.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?

The worst bits were when I really wanted to go and explore the entire universe, but nevertheless the fear of not being able to return easily to my body, that was under me in the bed sleeping, stopped me. The best parts were when I began to float and when I saw the Universe.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience? .

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?       No

Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?           Yes Yes I tried to be as explicit and clear as possible.
