Experience description:

So picture me, an average Midwestern white kid at 19. I was in deep meditation, sitting in a lounge chair on the back patio of my home in Kansas.

It was cold outside, around 10-11 pm and mid-December, so I was wrapped in a large comforter. I had been staring at the stars for nearly an hour, then decided to close my eyes and allow my mind to drift while focusing on my breath. It had to have been over 30 minutes, I'm unsure of the time frame, but soon after I felt something sort of 'click' and my eyes shot wide open on their own. I was facing south, and my focus was immediately brought to the power lines in my backyard. At that height level, I see a small stream of smoke coming directly towards me. It looked like a trail from a high flying plane, but it was literally right in front of me, 50 feet away. As it barreled towards my house, it quickly morphed from a stream of fog, into a large, intensely bright ball of light. It had an orange hue to it, but it was bright enough to light up my entire backyard as if it was mid-day. As for size, I would compare it to a smart-car, not huge, but not incredibly small either. Considering that it was so bright, I reacted as if someone had just turned the light on in the middle of the night, and recoiled slightly. I noticed a small curvature as if I was looking at the underside of the ship. I couldn't see a full ship though. It was almost like it couldn't totally phase into this reality, but it wanted me to see the ship anyway possible. Anyway, it rushed past me, flew directly over my roof (the house was one-story, so not very tall), and as soon as it passed the apex of my rooftop, it blinked out of existence. Just gone, in a snap. The smoke had dissipated and it vanished entirely, without a trace.

This all happened in the span of a few seconds. I shot out of my chair, exclaimed something along the lines of, 'HOLY SHIT!' and tried shouting for it to come back. I gazed out onto the rest of the sky overlooking the city and actually noticed other phenomena happening concurrently. I saw large wavy, purple lines moving across the sky at least a mile or two away. Couldn't make sense of that one bit. I went on Facebook to see if anyone in town had been seeing strange things as well, and I did see a few friends post about a 'UFO' hovering for some time near a local park. This was a strange night indeed.

It shook the notion of everything I had been contemplating for at least a year or two, that if ET was real and genuine, I would see proof eventually. I didn't expect it to come in that fashion, but since then I have no doubts in my mind that it is a VERY real phenomenon. I've had multiple experiences since then, not exactly like this but in some ways or form, mostly through dreams, lucid dreams, and OBE's that have been occurring since I had turned 16.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has similar experiences or wants to discuss similar topics! I'm still trying to make sense of what's been happening, I'm only 26 so I'd be very happy to hear from anyone else having these experiences as well.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?  No

Did you see a light?        Yes    Object morphed into a bright ball of light

Did you meet or see any other beings?         No

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state?          No

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?       Yes    I was standing, moving around, breathing, seeing, and hearing perfectly. I was ecstatic.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?  No

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Uncertain     It made me think of what life is really about. I had thoughts and suspicions about ET, God, souls, my place in the Universe and this experience helped me conclude at least SOME of it has to be real. If an actual living being from a different place in the Cosmos came to me and wanted me to see it exists too, then I have to be correct in the assumption there is life everywhere, and they want to meet us too.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?          No

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience? No

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience? Yes    Previously explained.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices? I really just live with the fact that this phenomenon is substantial and one day, we'll see it come to a point.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?          Yes

Have you shared this experience with others?       Yes    Most just brush it off. Nobody cares because they can't see it for themselves.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?          Enlightenment and happiness for some time after. Then a return to normal.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?    Best was seeing a possible ET fly into my backyard to say 'hi!'

Worst was him not stopping to talk about stuff.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?          No

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience? Yes    I have plenty of OBE's and lucid dreams pertaining to this happening again and again, in multiple forms. Motherships in the sky, beings on the ground, sometimes we talk, sometimes I'm running from them. Sometimes I'm in outer space, both in a ship with them and outside traveling freely. It's intense and surreal but it's been happening with greater frequency over the years.

Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?                    Yes    I think I did a good job explaining what happened and my thoughts surrounding it.
