Experience description:

I was in the hosp. in Kansas Univ. Med. Ctr. I had a chronically infected gland surgically removed from my under my chin earlier that day. I'm allergic to penicillin so I was given nafcillin. All during the day I was having severe chest pains. The med staff told me I was young and it was nothing. Around 10:40 pm I was in bed watching Nightline with Ted Koppel. I had a severe very deep chest pain. I was immediately out of my body. I was over my body looking down on myself. I could see the blue rays from the TV on my body and Ted Koppel still talking. I was afraid and asked "what's going on?" I said "God please help me!" When I said that I was back in my body and started pushing the Nurse call button. My Doctor was there that night which was unusual. I told him what happened. He believed me because he had seen it in Cardiac patients. I became a much more serious person and a deeper believer in God.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    I was at my highest level of consciousness when I was over my body looking down. I knew this was no dream. I've never done drugs.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   fear, and confusion

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   Uncertain   I knew God of the Bible heard me when I called out to Him. I still know it with all certainty.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that you either did (or did not) exist prior to this lifetime?   Uncertain   I kind of believed God was real. I was more agnostic. Now I know beyond a shadow of a doubt He Is and is Very real.

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   I lightly at best believed God cared about me or the human condition. I know better now.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?   Yes   I believe God is more real than anything we can see. I believe the God of the bible is GOD. I believe Jesus is His Son

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   Yes   I've had dreams and visions since then. I also saw the space shuttle explode the day before it happened and similar occurrences.    

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  I shared it immediately and have been sharing it ever since.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   I love my family and friends more and tell them. I have also become an advocate for the underdog.

Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   I read the bible more and have gotten closer to God.
