Experience description:

I was trying to clear my mind.  So much, too fast.  Just diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer, moving back to my home, job transfer to where I could get treatment, chemo and doctor dates scheduling.  I thought, I have to clear my mind, so I started saying a prayer.  I still couldn't concentrate so I started singing the prayer (even though I can't carry a tune) in my mind.  I was sitting upright on my bed with my eyes closed.  All of a sudden I saw a crack of light, then brilliant light.  Overwhelming peace and love overcame me.  I smiled, how wonderful this is, I need to do this more often I thought.  I kept singing the prayer in my flat voice.  Then a bunch of angels appeared to the right of the light.  They were singing with me, but much more beautiful voices.  It was like the "dueling banjos", I was flat and they'd finish in beautiful harmony.  I got so excited I wanted to see their faces and wings and broke my prayer/singing, and everything went back to darkness.  I couldn't believe it.  I was "high" for days, telling everyone what I saw, so excited. Most folks looked at me like I'd lost it.  I didn't care.  I wanted to go back.  I will cherish this forever and always pray to the God of that light.  This is where the reality is, this is what we're all supposed to strive for, love and kindness to each other.  There is no doubt in my mind now that this is where we'll go, it's all a mystery but all so very clear, too.  Light and love can outweigh darkness.

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?  Uncertain I was just diagnosed with cancer.

Did you encounter or become aware of any earthly beings who were alive at the time of your experience (they were not deceased)?   No      Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence?  Angels singing.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   Bright, beautiful place.  

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   It was all clear that love and peace was what we were supposed to be seeking.
