Experience description:
During sleep I was vividly dreaming that I was on a physicians examination
table. A faceless man in white had his hand on my heart. We were waiting for
something, I thought to begin the examination. Then, in this position a very
rough vibration began. There was also a very loud noise like rushing wind. It
was very uncomfortable, and I complained and was told that it was almost over.
When the vibration stopped I was aware that my body was paralyzed. I mostly
remember being frightened. Then it all became very strange, with a sense of
drifting into a void. It was bluish grey. I had a terrible thought that I had
died, and I vividly remember thinking that I did not want to die. With that
though I was quickly back in my body and feeling normal and awake. My thoughts
were quite disorganized for a few days.

What emotions did you feel during the experience? Fear, confusion.
Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises? Loud rushing noises
Did you have any sense of altered space or time? Yes
Describe: The experience was very still and strange. It felt timeless, like a different dimension. Hard to describe
Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose? No
Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure? Yes
Describe: I felt if I continued, I would die

Describe: I was frightened and fought the experience.

Describe: A sense of the spiritual realm that is within.

What emotions did you experience following your experience? I feel frightened and out of control. I did not ask for this. I am puzzled by the man who was standing net to me. All I saw was an arm with a white sleeve.
What was the best and worst part of your experience? I keep reassuring myself that I was able to return at will, in case this happens again.
Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? No response
Describe: Too recent an event to really tell if it has changed me. This was not a peaceful experience, and I am having a hard time not thinking about it. The material world feels a bit unreal to me since this happened.
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience? No response
Describe: I have been reading and meditating mornings with the exercises in a Course in Miracles for about a year. The feeling of timelessness comes back when I read this book.
