Experience description:

It was 5:20 to 5:30 am I remember waking briefly, I had myself turned towards the wall and thought it very odd because a soft golden light was shimmers off the walls and off my night stand like a burning candle ( I never used or burned candles ) at first I ignored it and closed my eyes again to sleep, but it was so odd I opened my eyes again to confirm what I had seen. I remember sitting up in my bed and looking back over towards the wall at the head of my bed just to the right and I saw a shimmering golden light orb hovering about 5 feet about the floor, I remember just sitting there looking at it and having a feeling that it was looking back at me. It was about the size of a basket ball and the golden light was streaming inward from the outer edge towards the center of the orb. It was very odd I had the feeling of making eye contact with it and then suddenly it just disappeared, the outer edges of the orb just grew smaller towards the center until it was go. I remember feeling really good, so at peace and relaxed.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    Yes I was completely alert and fully aware and in a place very familiar to me, my own bed.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   Extreme peace and very relaxed from head to toe.  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No  

Did you see an unearthly light?   Yes   Golden light orb about the size of a basket ball.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   No   The only being I encountered was the orb and I had a sense that it was a conscious being.

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   I believed in God, but never thought that I would encounter sprits or divine beings.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience as accurately as other life events that occurred around the time of the experience   I was fully awake and aware of my surroundings.

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:   I no longer fear death for myself, but know my passing will affect my family and children, I fear the loss of family members.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     I have an understanding of why I think we are here. God created us as perfect eternal beings. Our time here is used for personal growth and development in a way that I'm not entirely sure of or the purpose for, I guess it might be a way for perfect eternal beings to experience different levels of awareness.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  That morning I shared the experience with a co-worker, she was very surprised and said that she felt the need to pray for me the night before. I was tested for sleep apnea the following year and share the experience with the clinical worker who told me it was a vivid dream, I never agreed it was too real. Several years later I shared the experience with a medium who told me it was a visit from an angel, I had never told him about the co-worker praying for me even after he told me it was angelic. I had asked him if it was my light to cross over and was very surprised by the angel reply. It made complete sense afterwards.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience?   I never experienced anything like that before or after. In 2004 my sleep apnea was diagnosed and I have been using a cpap machine since.
