Experience description:
I had recently cut the
side of my right hand open, during washing a glass. Surgery was needed to fix
the nerve in my hand. I remember coming out of the anesthesia and saying, "Why
is my arms in the air. The doctor stated, they were not. I reply, "yes they are
they feel straight up in the air. I feel so cold. The doctor explained my arm
that was having surgery done was out to the right laying on a table, it felt
cold because blood flow was stopped for the surgery. I remember very vividly
feeling like I was reaching up out of my body, half in my body half out. I
wasn't afraid at all. But when I woke I didn't understand the feeling and
knowing I was awake.

difficult to express in words?....Uncertain....
At what time during
the experience were you at your highest level of
consciousness and
alertness?....More
consciousness and alertness than normal Just when I was coming out of the
anesthesia.....It was very vivid. Me laying on the table just wasn't a
believable fact. I am certain I was reaching up out of my body, for something or
toward something, it was a very pleasant feeling something I wanted.

Yes white, just a
beautiful whiteness, peaceful

feel during the experience?....in
awe of the light

unearthly light?....Yes....
Did you seem to
encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?....No

some other, unearthly world?....A
clearly mystical or unearthly realm....I
felt clearly somewhere else, not on earth. Just surrounded by light. It wasn't
until coming out of it I noticed I was half in my body.

up or slow down?....Everything
seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning....Time did
not exist, I had no knowledge of it.

to understand everything?....Everything
about the universe....I
felt connected to energy, a single infinite energy.

Yes But others just
seemed to thing it was the surgery, a dream.

about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it
happened:....Experience
was definitely real I just believe, without question. It was real.
What do you believe
about the reality of your experience at the current time:....Experience
was definitely real....It was so vivid, it didn't matter what the doctor was
saying to me, even though I saw my arm was on the table to the right. It felt
like I was reaching up out of my body, more real than what he was saying.
Have your
relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?....Yes....In
the respect that I try to give and be caring to others more so now. I just feel
closer to that peaceful feeling doing it.
