Experience description:

I was napping about 4 PM after studying.  My roommate was still at his desk.  I decided it was time to go back to studying and sat up.  I was astounded to see my body still lying on the bed!!   Curious.   I got up and tried to get my roommate's attention, but to no avail.   I briefly walked out of the roomthrough the closed door, and down the hallway.  I went past other dorm mates who could not see me.  I walked outside the dorm and observed a large picnic table on the lawn outside.  Seated around the table were about a dozen white-robed men.  One was standing with a chair pulled out, which I guessed was for me.

Being an agnostic my first thought was 'Damn I'm having a religious experience'.  I was determined to speak to these people but got scared.  What if my roommate tried to wake me?  He'd think I was dead.  What if they moved me and I couldn't find my body to get back in?  Then it came to me that I didn't have to walk from place to place, but could sort of think myself there.    The girl's dorm was just across the hill and they couldn't see me.  I was too worried.  I went back to my room and tried once more to get my roommates attention.  Then I sat  down and laid back in to my body. He hadn't noticed a thing.

I came to believe that this sort of experience is the basis of all 'religious' insight and I should have started a new sect and became rich.  This has happened again but not so profoundly.
