Experience description:

I have had too many to write down. These "events" have been happening to me for many years. I have been on a few web-sites before, discussing my experiences. The thing that I feel seperates me from the rest, For the last two years or so, it happens almost every night. At first, I had no control. My "spirit" would travel on its own. I could not control direction or any of my body parts. I realize there are no body parts to the spirit, but somehow it still helps guide me when I do these things.

 Sometimes there is a very bright light just out of my field of vision and it is comforting. Comforting now, it used to be when I would see it, I would flee and come back to my resting point. Two people in my life have felt a "shock" or warmth from my body at the exact time that my spirit leaves. I know this because as I was leaving, they spoke aloud this sensation, which drew me back in.

After reading a bit on a web site, I decided I would try to project myself somewhere. I hadn't known this to be possible until I read about it. It has worked for me several times. I do not will these things to happen. I actually don't want them to happen. I have had MRI's, catscans, sleep studies, evrything I know to do to find the answers. It is difficult to say I don't believe in OBE's when I have them so often, but I'm not sure that I do. I realize this doesn't make much sense. It is very confusing for me.

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?     No      

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes     The feeling of leaving ones body is difficult to explain because nothing compares. The complete weightlessness and freedom were unknown to me before.

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           Different times, different levels. Sometimes I am almost asleep. Sometimes I am asleep and realize it is happening. My favorite is when I am ultra aware. At this time I can see everything. It is more than seeing. At risk of the looney bin, at these times I can see without using my eyes. This is true and no,I am not crazy

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   most of the time, no

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes     I have only seen my arms and one leg. I try to see myself in this state but it is difficult. What I have seen is smaller than I am. My limbs appear to be transparent, yet have a black tint to them. Like black plastic wrap.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            I don't know that I do

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           all the time. Every sound is different. I sleep with a fan on, when going into this state, the sound changes. It cycles instead of sounding steady.  Sometimes voices as well. Never just one voice, more like a chorus

 LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?    Yes            Both familiar and unfimiliar places. No religious symbols. Other people, some I can make out clearly, though I don't recognize them, others are dark and can not be clearly seen.

Did you see a light?           Yes     Brighter and whiter than anything I have ever seen, but it does not bother the eyes. I can look straight into it.

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes     Most of the time, they are in my house. Nothing communicated really.

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? Yes    

I have visited other places. I have not tried to move anything that I can remember. I have seen things that I would not have seen.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          Yes     I saw my ex-girlfriend one night and asked her the next day what she wore to bed and it was what I saw. My vision though was blurred and the next time I went to her house, I saw that she had put a veil around her bed. That was confirming.

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          Yes            Oddly, the only sense that I have noticed other than sight would be touch. Not my hands though, but the bottoms of my feet

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Uncertain            I wish to leave it at that, at this time

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?             No       I have felt or seen no boundary

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       Yes            Sometimes I will myself back, sometimes it just happens.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         Yes     I wish not to elaborate at this time.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   No      

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       I am more aware.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         No      

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     Most do not understand. A few wish they could experience the same. I tell them to be VERY careful what you wish for.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  Nothing different.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      The worst was not understanding what was happening. When it happens by its self and you  don't know what's happening. The best... I don't know.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?        I have a lot to tell. However, I don't know who I am writing to.

 Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         No      

Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?               Yes     Good questions, I'm just running out of time.

 Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.    My only suggestion is that someone should contact me via e-mail. Though I have these experiences, there is so much that I don't know.
