Experience description:

This incident could not really be described as a NDE in my present life experiences. I'm still debating with myself if this memory is just a false memory or something caused by an active imagination.

Here is my story. I can recall living on a farm at the age of 10 years old.  I was helping my father with plowing the fields. He was preparing the field for planting and I was carrying a bag of seeds on my side, dropping them in the furrow, and covering them up. My father often hired helpers during harvest to help with the picking of the fruit and vegetables. We lived in a mud thatched house with a sun decoration on the top of the door. We had a hard dirt floor with one bedroom and a patio for cooking. We also had an altar, dedicated to various Gods, that we would place incense regularly in respect and admiration for them. My father would take me to school in town when he didn't need me for the farming. Often he would have me help a local fisherman so we could have fish.  That was lots of fun to bring the fish home.

The school was originally a vacation home for a wealthy politician, who donated the building to the community when he died. The teacher was a mean, old Greek slave who loved to cane his students when they made a mistake. Here I meet my best friend named Simon, whose family was Hebrew.  His head was shaved, which was common for Jewish children at this time. I remember playing with Simon, going into the tunnel, and looking out at the sea.  We could also see the jetty with boats tied up to the walls. We would go down to the shore and watched the men bring in olives to be processed at the local plant. A slave would count the number of bushels in a scale and document the number in a ledger. I remember going to Simon's house up on a hill where his family had a business. He loved to drink goat's milk and eat cheese when we went there. I saw Simon's older brother once.  He embarrassed and angered his family because of his claims of being a special teacher from God.  They were mad because Simon's brother had left after the father died and didn't help with the family business.

All I can remember is I drank some water from a community well and later got really sick.  I threw up and had a high fever.  My parents tried to help the sickness by burning incense, which made me very very sick. Later I lost consciousness but remember looking down on my body and twirling around in a circle. I felt very bad because my father was so upset and crying that his only son had died. My mother was very distraught. I guess I really loved my parents and knew they needed me. Then I remember flying over the town and city towards the north.  I flew into a tunnel and light.  Then I saw a beautiful field of flowers that had a bright monument in the center of it. I can't remember anything else about the incident.
