I stopped to rest by going over to this  little island of land that had not been flooded. There was a tree. I hung onto it. Next to the tree were two beings. They were like angels I guess- they were dead. They were covered in light and also old people. They spoke to me with their minds. We know you they said because we know your parents. I said no that is not possible because my parents are dead. I had not yet realized that these people were also dead. They said yes we know- they live where we do and they asked us to look out for you for them. They said we are watching you so you must do the right thing. (I am just paraphrasing here cause they did not use words so I don't have it exactly right, you understand). I felt very comforted by them and what they said. I also felt a large responsibility to fulfill  a life mission set for me.

Next my grandfather appeared. How I knew it was him I cannot say because he did not have his face. He did not have a face, really. He was just a big ball of light. He came and stood near me by the tree and spoke to me. When he came close to me I felt the light coming off his body. I could feel it with my body not just see it and the light had a feeling like pure joy and unconditional love. It is beyond words. It enveloped me and I felt very loved and very at peace. I wanted to melt into him and stay there forever. As I do whenever I "visit" with my grandfather, I asked him a question. I asked him whether I would have children. I asked this with my mind. He responded- not in words- by showing me that there were all these orphans in the world that needed me and I did not have to worry about having my own kids.

This is what I remember. I am leaving out the feeling and the power of it because how can I describe that? It felt like I had gotten advice about my life purpose and also a look into my future. It was also a lesson in love. For many years I could remember it all very vividly. Whenever I think hard on it I can feel that same feeling of love- the light coming from his body- and feel joyous all over again.

(Notes: when the spirits in the otherworld say "parents" they don't mean my mom and dad, cause they are still alive. They always mean my grandparents or great-grandparents. I understood this when they speak and when I speak to them I mean the same thing. Thus, when I said my parents  were dead - it was my grandparents I was talking about.)

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes

Among other things, Language is not used in the otherworld. People or beings talk with their minds so to talk about what they "said" requires a translation into language. Also the light coming off the bodies of the spiritual beings is very hard to describe because it has a look, a physical feeling and an emotional feeling all at once and is hard to explain.

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          No

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           It felt more real than  this life- this is always the case in the otherworld. It was very different sense of time and space and the people there seem beyond this world- they know everything in this world. Also when I am there, I know more. I'm detached from this world in a way that makes me know more about it. This world is like a task. that world is the real thing.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   Yes. A very vivid dream with feelings that don't match this world.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Uncertain

All the bodies over there are like bodies here but lighter or they are just balls of light with no form. I was like a body but I was also watching my body from above

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            intense intense emotions. joy love peace. anxiety compassion.

I was in the future. I was also able to stop time to talk to these beings and then resume time afterwards. They were showing me times, that is and they could start and stop them like a movie.

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes

My life was scripted. I was being guided. Everything happens for a reason. I have a particular purpose and certain mission to accomplish in this life

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       Uncertain

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         Uncertain

I have had them my whole life- some times more than others.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes

I felt more at ease about having kids. I also felt more certain that I was being watched and guided. I felt more responsibility

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       It affects everything. I cannot forget who I am. I cannot forget what is over there. I know this life is not real. I also know that I have goals I must achieve. Reasons I am here

All of my experiences combined have had a profound effect on my life. This is just one. It is one of the more powerful ones in a continuum.

I told my dad and some friends. They usually react with awe and or confusion or disbelief. The love part usually affects people in a positive way if I tell it right

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      best part- the love

worst part- the dismal future and my responsibility in it

I have left my body many times. I have visited with spiritual beings. I had a very powerful obe like this one involving a great-grandfather later. I have remembered past lives. I have gotten messages from the dead. I have traveled out of body through space and time- past and future. I have had intense spiritual/psychic connections with others. I have had visions and dreams.
