Experience description:

I was lying down, having spent a restless night with an attack of hay-fever, and I was very sad as I had been very upset since the death of my little dog in December 2009. There were times when I just wanted to die, to be with him, but at other times I thought of my family and how for their sake I could not want to die. I suffer respiratory problems due to allergies as well as hiatus hernia and chronic faringitis, and nearly always breathe through my mouth.

All of a sudden I found myself in a meadow or garden, very beautiful, with red flowers like giant poppies. I could not see my body, though I knew I was still myself.  Within me there was a noise like a vacuum-cleaner, but a deeper note. I was walking in the garden, ecstatic, marvelling, filled with joy, walking very quickly or almost flying, when suddenly I saw a neighbour called Rosi; she had died some two years previously. This neighbour was from my home-town, not where I live now. She was standing next to a white wall, I guess the wall of a house, as she communicated to my mind that this was my house. I don't know if she asked me in, but I intended to go in, but at that moment I found myself back in my bed. I have always wanted to have a house with a garden,  especially for the sake of my little dog, but I have never been able to have one.

Uncertain. Even before my experience I was very intuitive and had dreams which came true, and sometimes I have been afraid they would come true. About 2 months before it died my pet more or less warned me in dreams about something bad which was going to happen, but I did not want to believe it. Also, I had an indescribable sadness within me for two or three months before my dog died.

Yes. When my father died 18 years ago I was aware of his presence, he stroked my head many times, by day and by night, and this went on for many months until the date of his birthday.  I believe he wanted me to know it was him, that he was with me. I had fragile health with a lot of depression, as well as being ill, which nobody believed. The doctors only found a cure when they finally discovered the illness, after about 4 years. It was a tumor on the pituitary gland or on the bone it rests on. I also had many external causes for my depression.

Experience was definitely real. For about 6 months I have kept remembering it, not in such clarity, but inside me the feelings are the same, and I have the feeling of being in another dimension. For me it was Paradise.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?

Yes. Probably I am now more tolerant of others' faults. I am quite tolerant, but I am upset and wounded by people's malice.

Uncertain. I am now more sure of the existence of a superior god who has created us all, and that there is life after death.

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience? No

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?

Just this, that one day, when I was trying to get to sleep, some lovely flowers appeared in my mind's eye. At other times I have seemed to leave my body but only for a second, and it has given me the feeling that my mind was just a little bit above my body.

Did the questions asked and information you provided so far accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?
Yes

Are there any other questions we could ask to help you communicate your experience?

I just want to say that I have taken Sogilen for the tumor and Eurotirox for the thyroid for many years, and I do not believe these have influenced the experience, as I have taken them for so long, and the same goes for the antihistamine I take for allergic attacks.
