EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION

I have a new partner in my life and since I've known him, (one year) I hadn't had any OBEs or even close calls to an OBE - yet, before I met him, I had lots - as in 30 - 50 of them.  I had told him about all my experiences of my past and his 11 year old daughter is always interested in my stories, and always asks me ""have you had one yet""??  Gladly I have now had another significant OBE and can't wait to tell her. 

I have just had a 15 day Gastro bug with diarrhea/nausea which turned into an emergency situation where I ended up in the Emergency Dept of the hospital in Adelaide.  I had 3 days on fluid IV, with severe dehydration/delirium.  I hadn't slept very well while there, and was looking forward to going home.  While in the hospital I had had a few strange dreams which were probably strange due to the drugs I was given, eg anti-nausea, Warfarin etc.   

The night I came home from hospital (2 days ago) I went to bed feeling exhausted and still unwell, but I drank lots of water to keep myself hydrated, so therefore I was up and down to the bathroom.  While laying in bed during the early hours, I was thinking over my ""life"", my ""mother"", my wishes and dreams and feeling quite spiritual in myself, as you do after an awful illness - makes you appreciate life, doesn't it.  I was thinking why hadn't I had any OBE's while with my partner of one year.  How come they had stopped?  I was thinking about OBE's.  I went back to sleep. 

Suddenly, I was woken up with the usual vibrations in my right arm, which started quite calmly, but were getting stronger.  I instantly became ""quite awake"" but not fully awake, but enough to know I was getting the beginnings of another OBE.  I wished ..  I hope [the vibrations] get stronger.... wish wish wish and they did.  I got a little scared, and they then started to subside, but I thought NUP... I want this, I want another OBE ""go with it Lyn"" - and the vibrations became stronger again and stated in my leg as well.  I was laying on my LH side and it was my right arm and leg that was ""buzzing"" - I knew the vibrations were getting stronger.   

I could see the black ""void"" coming though closed eyelids - the darkness of the night or universe or whatever, and I thought ""Gee, I'm going a long way this time"" and I know this because I find the stronger/longer the vibrations, the further I go.  Then I could see what looked like a drawing of an eye - I dismissed it, and then I could see what looked like ""Saturn"" in the distance and I was heading for it - and I though ""Nup, it's a dream Lyn, and it's just because you saw Saturn in the newspaper while in hospital"", I dismissed that. 

I then saw a huge flat ""grid"" - like a mesh - like a sieve in a way and I passed through it at high speed - continuing out to the universe. 

Then I saw a light - like yellowish and in the shape of a logo - like the Toyota logo.  I dismissed that as well.  I felt a little disappointed as I thought maybe I won't get fully out of my body, and I need to be positive and not scared, otherwise the vibrations will subside. 

Next minute I could feel my 'spirit body' start to rise upwards, I though WOW WOW WOW... here I go and I ""went with it"" and tried to relax, tried not be scared, not let the fear get to me, and as I was lifting out, I could feel the vibations in my body and then I partially got out - my RH side of my body was out, I sat up and turned to my right (remember, I was sleeping on my LH side).  When I turned to the right, there was a man standing there beside my bed on the RH side.  He had his right arm outstretched towards me, fingers splayed, as if to say, ""touch my hand"".  Anyway, I got a little frightened because I wasn't expecting a man to be standing there.  I thought ""well, I am definitely going to touch his hand, and then I know I am out of my body, I KNOW it's real"" so I reached towards his hand with my left hand, so my thumb and his thumb were together.  It was quite dark in this ""room"" - my room - and I could see his fingers seems quite dark without the light.  I reached his hand and WOOOAAHHH - he was definitely standing there - DEFINITELY - he was really in my room, and the fact that I could feel him scared/shocked me.   

When I touched his hand I felt some pressure - and then a second scare when my fingertips went through his !! I could see my fingers going through his.  I looked at him, and he had quite a stern face of what I could see - which was only the shape of his head, the receding hairline and I could kind of see the temples and cheek bones.  I was ""thinking"" - he's familiar but I don't know who he is.  I thought he seemed kind enough, he seemed concerned for me.  He was dressed nicely with a black coat and a lighter colored shirt or top - I sensed he was about 40 years old and very fit, about 5'11"" tall and a strong person.  I then got scared, and I took a chance and asked ""WHO ARE YOU??"" knowing full well, even before I asked the question, that he wasn't going to answer me.  His message, which wasn't spoken, but communicated via thought was ""Go with it"" --- ""It's all OK"" --- I knew what he meant (at the time).  I now think he meant go through life - just go with it, and don't fight it, but I am not totally sure on that. 

I felt the vibrations begin to subside, so I thought ""OK that's enough"" time to go..... the vibrations subsided slowly, enough for me to wake up a bit more, get my feet out of the bed, and onto the cold floor - just so I would know it's the real me. I was amazed to find that my room was much lighter in real life.  I was amazed to find that the RH side of my bed was further away from my side, which meant, he must have been ""through"" my bed, to be standing that close I could touch his outstretched hand. 

While my feet were on the floor, my right arm was still vibrating quietly, and YEP, my feet were definitely on the floor, Yes, I was awake, yes it happened and the ""FAR OUT"" feeling left me in total shock. But, what gets me, is the fact that my arm WAS still vibrating and I could feel it, and I WAS sitting up and awake as awake can be. 

I looked at the clock and it was 7:30am exactly.  I was freaking out.  I was in awe, amazed, shocked, excited, happy, and all I wanted to do was tell my partner (who doesn't live we me), whom I immediately called on his mobile phone.  (He didn't really want to know about it, because he was in a deep sleep and the mobile phone woke him up (too bad - hehehe).   

After that I just sat still in shock, thinking WOW WOW WOW, how amazing after not having one all this time.  All sorts of stuff was going through my head. 

Another unreal experience for me - just to remind me, something IS REALLY OUT THERE, a great universe and spiritual world - I feel lucky.

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? No      

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          Uncertain      I could have been in a fatal dehydration event if not for the Emergency Department and the fact I took myself to the doctor who sent me directly to hospital.

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           Semi Awake - �coming to" in the morning.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   Not really.  But I had been asleep, so in a sense it is to do with sleep.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes     The spirit of myself is quite like a smoky clear color - especially in the dark.  Although I never opened my eyes.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Frightened, shocked, happy, I knew it was coming as I have experienced it before, many times, so excited as well, because I wasn't sure what I was going to see once I popped out of my body.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           Not this time.  I was listening for noises, but didn't hear any - sometimes I hear noises like a radio channel - which isn't quite on channel, and hear chattering.  This time, I didn't hear a thing.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?    No           

Did you see a light?           Yes     Not a light at the end of a tunnel or such, but a black void with lights - as in stars, light patterns and a grid-like mesh.

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes     See above.

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? Yes

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No      

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          Uncertain            Telepathy.  Sight as far as spirit goes.  No noises this time and certainly no smell.  I was aware of the vibrations in the RH side of my body.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   No      

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes    

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?             No      

Did you become aware of future events?       No      

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       Yes     I know how to control the experience and keep the vibrations in a high state, keep the fears away, think positive and WISH - and then when you have had enough, or begin to feel the feel, you just think �ENOUGH� or �BACK TO BODY� or simply the smallest of smallest fear will take you straight back.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         No      

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   No      

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       Not yet.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         No      

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     Rang my partner on the telephone as soon as I had it, and was out of bed.  He was asleep and when I woke him up, he was more pissed off at being woken up.  Told my mother - she listened because she's heard it so many other times from me before. Told a couple of friends who I know have had them themselves.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  First up, shock.  Second - excitement and disbelief and a huge WOW factor.  Like F A A A A A R R R R K K K!!!! 

Then couldn't wait to tell somebody, then I burst into tears.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      Best: Getting the message �Just go with it�.

Best: Having another OBE after such a long break - just to bring me back to �reality�.

My last experience I wrote to you was under "Lyn R".  Since then I have been practicing all the time and have become really quite good at doing "willed" OBE and have been researching information on websites weekly since then.   

As all my experiences are so varied and hard to describe at times, I have drawn pictures in a book which remind me of what happened during OBE's. 

First of all - I will explain how I do this.  I have usually been asleep for a couple of hours when I get up and go to the bathroom.  I get back into bed and usually cannot get to sleep again.  I think to myself, mmm, I will give this a shot.  So I ALWAYS get on my back, get myself comfortable, especially my head/neck and feet.  I make sure I am covered.  I close my eyes, and watch for flashes of light, dots, white or dark blobs of color, and try and see right through my eyelids out to space....  Then if it's going to happen, I will feel a vibration (accompanied with an electronic sounding buzz).  The vibrations get very intense and I know this because once my arms were next to my legs and while the vibration was going on, I could feel my thumbs vibrating against my leg (freaked me out a bit).  Once I have the vibration happening, usually between 10 seconds and 20 minutes, I either pop out straight away, or I have to try hard by willing out my hands and then my head.  At this stage I sometimes get stuck and cannot get fully out, and then I feel the vibrations subsiding.  Very annoying when you are trying to get out.  When I do get out it is extremely fast and seems to have an electronic "pop" or "pull" effect.  As if my spirit was a in a balloon inside of me, and then expanding until it popped free - that's what it felt like anyway. 

Here are four of my experiences over the last 1-1/2 years... 

1.  The Silver Cord.  I found myself out in space, looking at the planet earth, and I was thinking "wow, I am out" and I thought (I think I even spoke out loud) "Hi" as I was trying to communicate to earth.  I heard the word "hi" vibrate very loudly and I could see a kind of string going from me to earth and I thought it was a communication line of some sort.  I could see a huge black cloud in front of the planet which covered about 1/3 of the earth.  The earth was extremely beautiful and with bright colors (like on Google Earth).  I got frightened when I heard my voice resonate all the way to earth, and suddenly I was back in my body, sitting upright and thinking "WOW".  Then two weeks later, still wondering what/how this could happen, I was reading on the internet on OBE info.  I printed out four pages of "how to do OBE" and when I saw page 1 with earth on it in bright colors - with a person floating and a cord, and then on page 2 there was a picture of a big black cloud.  It struck me that that's the two parts of what I had seen in the OBE.  I folded both pieces of paper in half and when I put the two halves together, I had my vision.  Even down to the size, direction and position of the earth, cord, and cloud.  That floored me, and after that, I found out that the communication line was my own silver cord, holding me to earth.  I was SAFE.  It's the only time I have seen any cord. 

2.  Swimming.  One night I was trying to do an OBE and I wanted to prove to my male friend that I could fly from Adelaide to Melbourne and visit him in the night.  I was going to try and get into his room and then in the morning call him and tell him what was in his bedroom.  This didn't happen, BUT suddenly I found myself in the upper atmosphere speeding east (it seemed like east) and Melbourne was in the east from where I live in Adelaide. Somehow I went too far and I thought - naa, this isn't where he lives, this is some Indonesian country which has lots of small tropical islands, so take me back to Melbourne.  Suddenly I was going West and could see the coastline, although it didn't look like Australia's coastline to me.  I looked down and saw the sea, probably a few hundred meters from the coast.  I saw the sparkling blue water, (but it was night in Melbourne, so this didn't make sense to me).  I think maybe I wasn't anywhere near Melbourne and probably on the other side of earth.  I looked down and found myself speeding down towards the water, and I thought, oh shit, I am going into that water.  I could see the boats bobbing up and down, and could sense a beautiful still sunny kind of day.  Then whoosh, I went straight under the water/through at 90 degrees - there were beautiful fish swimming around (fish I'd never seen before and very bright), I felt like I was supposed to stop breathing and felt like I was holding my breath, but I somehow didn't need to.  I was like "snorkeling" along under the water, very calmly, but then feared something behind me to my left, and immediately straight back to my body.   I can still remember the feeling of getting ready to hold my breath as I went through the silver lining of the water.  I never did get to Melbourne.  

3.  The galaxy.  I was trying to OBE and very quickly one night after going to the bathroom and getting back to bed (about 15 seconds after getting into my bed), I got the vibrations very, very intensely, as if in a rocket ship going to outer space (Like you seen on the movies).  I thought to myself, far out, I am going a long way this time, I stared into the blackness of my eyelids and "pop" immediately I could see galaxies, stars by the millions and two bright stars surrounded by their own bunch of stars.  I though WOW, I am going to that bright star in the middle of that cluster, and suddenly I diverted to the less bright star in it's own cluster. I whizzed straight through the galaxy at "light speed".   At the exact same time, somehow I also sensed electronic words in English although I couldn't catch any of the words - for some reason I thought it was a radio station and it seemed to be out to the right of me (about 2 o'clock).  I tried to understand and catch at lease one word, but couldn't.  I also, at the same time felt a presence to my left and behind (about 7 o'clock).  It was an old man, someone with a stutter or Parkinson's disease, he was trying to tell me something.  I said to him (telepathically) "you can tell me, go on..."  and as he had such a big stutter, the only sound he got out was ".....v.....V.......VVVV" and suddenly I was back in my body.  After that I looked everywhere for a word, planet or galaxy that might start with a "V".  Found Nothing.  A few weeks later, I had an operation in hospital, and I found I was very allergic to some painkillers like Codeine, Morphine etc.  There was one that made my very sick, but I couldn't remember the name of it.  I tried to tell the nurse and I said to her, it starts with a "V" and as I said it, I heard the word "V" resonate in my head, and immediately I thought of my OBE and that man.  I cannot remember the name of that medication to this day. 

4.  The Monk.  This one is my last that I have managed to do and was in December 2007.  This one frightened the living daylights out me.  This particular week I had had 3 or 4 nights with vibrations, but unable to get fully out.  I was this time laying on my right hand side (and as I said before, they usually happen while on my back).  Suddenly without any warning I was out, vibrations in full swing, and I thought, OK,  I will open my eyes and make sure I am awake by looking at something in my room.  I opened my eyes (in real, well I know I opened them, but am not sure if my eyes saw or my head/mind saw).  My room was pitch black and I have roller shutters.  In the corner of my room, there was a Monk, in brown with arms folded, he seemed to be hiding in my room, his face mostly covered and he was looking down towards the floor.  My senses told me he was the Grim Reaper or the like.  He was evil, and not what I wanted in my room.   I thought "oh no, you go away, I don't want you around, I only want good things in this...."  Suddenly I was looking to my right (although I hadn't moved in my bed at all).  In my mind I was laying on my back, facing upwards.  There was a big hand, ghostlike hand, and on it was a vision of a lady in pure white with a big bright light or aura behind her, she had two white doves and they flew off to her right (or my left), and suddenly I was bolt upright, still with the vibrations happening, which lasted about 10-15 minutes I think.  I was scared.  I wanted to go to the bathroom, but I was too scared to walk to the suite in the dark.  I turned on my light before opening my eyes, left the light on and when I got back into bed, I looked into that corner to see what was there.  There was my night-stand, with a lamp on top.  I thought, Ooh, that's what I saw in the dark, a lamp and stand.  Silly me.  I turned the light off, and opened my eyes - that room was pitch black - there was NO WAY I could see the light or light stand. Not even an outline, hint, or glow of any sort.  NO WAY (I have checked this 20 times since then).  I now have a problem with that corner of my room.  I have a problem knowing there is something bad out there, but you can control it and tell it to GO.   

Anyway, two days later, on a Sunday Night I decided to watch TV (which I never do).  I turned onto a medieval-type, 2 part movie ( It was the 2nd part), and it was about a woman who loved a guy but he was already married. One night she woke up during the night and found a Monk in her room, but she couldn't see his face because he held a candle up in front of him.  She got scared. She eventually found out that her man had a wife, and she got upset and ran off into the moors.  She became ill, laid down and she drifted up into the heavens.  I thought - yep - that's what happens.  Then in the movie she was found my two girls and a boy and they took her in and looked after her.  The woman missed her man, she wanted him badly.  But she wasn't going back to him.  Then the girls that found her, brought her a white dove as a gift.  By this time I thought,  "Ohh spooky", the Monk... The Dove....  Then I started crying and thought about the beginning of the movie, and in it was the girl dressed in her Wedding Dress in white, just like what I had seen in my OBE.  Then I remembered, three nights before, while trying to do an OBE, I think somehow this whole thing is quite co-incidental, but now I do not believe in co-incidence.  The man in the movie had also asked her for her Hand in marriage - could this be the hand too.  I cried myself to sleep that night. 

Then a week later, my only friend who believes me and has experiences of her own, told me how she had had a OBE one night where a monk, dressed in brown, and arms crossed was in her bedroom. I told her about my dream, and she and I couldn't believe that our description of this monk was the same.  Then my friend Jane said, that the Monk reminded her of the "Grim Reaper".  Well, that was it, I began looking up the net on this stuff.  Apparently Grim Reaper type stuff in this style is supposed to mean "war and destruction".  I am now a bit worried.

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?     No      

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes     I KNOW that all the feelings, information, visions, intenseness are all telepathic and are a "knowing" and that we don't have these same feelings in REAL everyday life.  Hard to communicate because (1) only those who have these type of experiences will know how it feels.  (2) Really hard to explain to anyone, because even describing it to yourself is quite hard.  The lights and brightness and speed is  more intense that what we experience in physical life. 

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          Uncertain      I have had many experiences since my first real experience which I wrote to you about 3 years ago.  I have had life threatening events since then, which I think made the occurrences of OBE more frequent (i.e. since 1-/12 years ago.)  Now I practice all the time and can do it at will some of the time.  Sometimes I cannot get it to happen, but I usually know the reasons, like I am not relaxed, have a sense of being frightened, or I am simply too tired and my mind will not relax enough.

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           Always alert, always very aware.  I know what to look for, and even when asleep I wake up because I feel the vibrations so intensely.  Sometimes I see lights and it wakes me up, and then the vibrations start.  Once I have the vibrations, I either find it hard to get out, or pop out very easily.  Haven't figured that part out yet.  I will keep practicing.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   My first few experiences I thought were dreamlike because of the fact I was in bed either sleeping or going to sleep.  Now I know it's nothing to do with sleep as such, but more the fact that when in bed, it's dark, quiet and you have more time to "meditate" (I don't think that's really the right word).  I have a bladder problem which gets me up every night, and it's after a few hours sleep that I find my spirit seems to have more energy and this is usually when it happens.  i.e. the middle of the night and before I go back to sleep.  Definitely NOT dream like - dreams are completely different to these experiences.  These experiences are REAL. Normal dreams are disjointed.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes     Definite separation.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            AWE, AWE, AWE.  Excitement, sometimes very scary, sometimes very high emotional state - lots of love, and the sense of high light-speed.  No pain, and high consciousness and clarity. All feelings seem magnified.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           I always have a loud buzzing noise accompany the intense Vibrations.  I can hear it coming and if asleep, this will wake me up.  I am tuned in now.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?            Yes     No amazing creatures.  I think there are levels out there and Heaven as we describe it is one, Hell (again as we describe it) is just a fact of the universe because I have come across evil, scary feelings out there.  There are other levels too - but I haven't been out there long enough to get enough information on these ones. I know there are membranes between levels though - because I have sensed/felt/seen them.

Did you see a light?           Yes     Light - No tunnel or anything, but often flashes, brightness of white, electrifying noises accompanying vibrations.  Color is bright and light is bright - but it's not like looking at a sun or anything.  Again, very hard to describe this.

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes     Telepathic meetings.  I have in other OBE's seen people, but somehow they didn't see me, even thought I was walking with them.  I saw one guy in a village once and he had a T-shirt on.  I managed to read his tee-shirt and remember it.  It said "Electrolux".  This is a company that makes vacuum cleaners, but I haven't seen this guy around yet, or the t-shirt either.  YET!

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? Yes    

Haven't moved an object yet.  Have had an experience once where I saw my friends friend (who is still alive).  In my OBE my mum's friend, Faye, had just been told she was very very ill.  In the OBE her husband was with her.  I rang mum the next day and told her of my Dream.  Six or so weeks later mum called me to say Faye has cancer in her spine, and is getting Chemo.  In my dream i saw Fay's shocked face and immediately my telepathy told me she was very sick.  When mum told me that Faye was sick, I didn't even remember the OBE experience, until mum said to me "Remember that Dream".  My son was at the table at the time, and both Mum and my son freaked out a fair bit, along with me, I must say.  I KNEW. I KNEW.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          Yes     sEE ABOVE.

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          Yes     I haven't ever smelt anything.  I have intense emotions, very bright lights and colors which don't hurt the eyes - which is amazing.  I can feel if I wish to.  Taste - nup, haven't had that.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   No      

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes     I seem to get knowledge of future events, but very minor events, like I know when people might get sick.  I feel very privileged to get knowledge and that is the fact that there is so much more to the universe than we mortals know.  A million times more than we know, and I feel one day this will be taught in schools.  I have learnt one thing... WE ARE ALL SPIRITUAL.  WE ALL ARE DERIVED FROM LIGHT.  WE ARE ALL ENERGY AND HENCE THE VIBRATIONS.  WE ALL DIE AND GO OUT THERE SOMEWHERE AND WE ALL GO BACK TO THE LIGHT.  THIS IS IMPORTANT - WE DEFINITELY GO BACK TO SOME KIND OF LIGHT/ENERGY FIELD.  I learned this somehow.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?             Yes     During different experiences, I have had boundaries.  Some OBE have a small boundary i.e. my room.  Some OBE's have been in outer space, and when returned at extremely high speed, I can sense layers and some kind of membrane between the layers, e.g. stars, membrane, high speed thoughts, membrane, intense love, membrane, atmosphere, membrane and suddenly bolt upright in my bed thinking FAR OUT that was layers - like stratospheres or something, but much bigger scale.

Did you become aware of future events?       Yes     Very very small events which have happened later, or at least I can see a connection of some sort.

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       Yes     If i get scared I know how to return to my body.  I use thought if I want to come back.  I come back immediately and find that the body is still vibrating.  When I have this sometimes I try and get out again - sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. 

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         No       Following these experiences, no - but I always have had some kind of psychic abilities which until now I never believed possible, although they've been happening all my life.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes     BIG changes for me.  1.  I want to teach.  2.  I want to love more.  3.  I know I am going somewhere when I die, and now I am not scared of dying.  My attitude is that we humans are not understanding how BIG this universe is, and nearly every day I think about what more I can learn. I believe more in fate now and destiny.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       This has affected my relationships because now I want to meet a partner who is also "into" this kind of spiritual awareness.  Doesn't particularly affect my daily life.  I am an atheist and do not believe in religion as such, but I do beleive in a higher power, the universe and that we have so much to learn.  Doesn't affect my career (except if I talk about it at work and they think you are nuts).  I try and leave work out of it.

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     I have shared with many people now.  Most believe me, but cannot understand it.  Some want it to happen to them.  My dad thinks I am nuts, my mum reckons it has happened to her and now she says when she dies she will let me know somehow what is out there.  I know she sill.  Once I asked "up there" to help me find someone who knows what I am talking about.  1/2 hour later I went to the hotel to catch up with friends, and I ran into a guy from my Rock and Roll club who I had never spoken to.  As my friends were late, I went up to him for a chat.  Somehow, within 5 minutes we were talking about HIS strange but wonderful OBE's.  I feel it is somehow heard by the Universe what our wishes are. I told my doctor once, and he said he would check me for seizures! Didn't believe a thing I said. I told a Chiro once too, and he believed everything I said, and he explained what happened to him and it's the same thing!

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  Fright, excitement, amazement, disbelief (although I know it happens).  So amazing that after 30 or so events now, it still makes be "sit up and take notice".  It's a lesson, it's incredible, I am floored to this day... still.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      The best is getting the vibration going and knowing that I will be going somewhere exciting.  The worst is when I get in contact with "evil" stuff - I can sense it, and either I fly straight back to my body, or I use my thoughts to scare off the evil and tell it to go away.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?        It's about 100% willpower, 100% universal law, 100% wishing - and belief at 100%.

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         No       I have used marijuana, and it kind of seems like the same sense of contentment and happiness but without the experience of OBE.  Hard to explain that.

Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.    I think I would really like to meet others and wish there was a forum part to this website where people could contact each other.  The questions are good.  You could ask people things like - do they look through the eyelids, because I do.  Also, I have worked out it is nearly ALWAYS me resting on my back with arms to the side, when I get the vibrations quickly.

Experience description 1:   

I was not well with the flu this night.  I went to bed early about 9pm.

I was having a dream where I could see myself laying in my son's bed but I was actually sleeping in my own bed. I could see myself laying on my left side, eyes closed. In this dream there was a black T-shirt on my son's pillow right next to my head.  I somehow asked something or someone to fold the T-shirt, because I couldn't move.  I seemed to be asking a "higher level" or "spirit" to move and fold the T-shirt because I wanted proof that something out there existed.

Suddenly the T-shirt moved and this frightened me.  I began to awake but was caught up in between a dream-like state and an awake state. While I was becoming awake, I suddenly felt a being or spirit or something re-enter my body through the right-hand side of my body - between my hip bone and my shoulder.  There was not pain, just a presence of some sort.  As this happened I heard a huge electric buzz which seemed to last about 5 - 10 seconds and got louder as it entered.  At the same time there was a light - as if when the electric buzz entered, it lit up in front of my eyes,(although my eyes are closed). The light seemed fused, not bright - and seemed to be only in my head. This light lasted about 3-4 seconds.  During this sensation I got really scared and talked to myself - something like "don't be scared, go with it, it will be alright".  I didn't know who I was talking to though.  I then woke up, absolutely scared and shocked and I layed really still for about 15 minutes.  I was puffing and shaky. and breathing heavily.  I was not sure what to think - but "WOW".

I waited for a little longer and then woke my boyfriend up.  I wanted to tell him quickly because I didn't want to forget all the details. 

I was scared to go back to sleep for the next two or three nights.  I also feel I would like to go there again, so see if I go further - but it is frightening because what if I don't get back to my body in time, e.g. before waking up completely.

The first thing I thought was "wow - what the hell was that"  Then I was frightened because there was some spirit in me - and I thought if, it's in me, it's got to come out again.  Then I remembered I had had this before - somewhere over the last ten years.  I must have wiped it out my mind.  Then I thought - I wonder if it was my spirit that had left me, and then returned.  Therefore the spirit I thought it was, wouldn't need to leave, because it is mine.  "Whew"  I was relieved somehow.

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?     No

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes

Yes because it's hard to describe feelings like I had because it's feelings I haven't had very often before.

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          No

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           Dreaming, then a middle part (semi conscious) then complete alertness.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   Yes - dreamlike until I awoke completely.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes

I saw myself briefly - but I was somewhere out there - but I don't know where.  I knew I was out, because I know I returned (if that makes sense).

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Peaceful looking at me sleeping. Scared when I realised something or someone entered my body.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           Yes, a big electric buzzing as something re-entered.  I realise now, well at least I think I do, that it was my spirit returning.  The buzz got lounder as it re-enetred - as if I heard it coming from afar, then re-entered, and then settled back into me (I think that the light happened as it settle back in) - then I was completely awake.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?    No

Did you see a light?           Uncertain

The only light was from the electic buzz like a white fuzzy glow in my head.  There was no tunnel, no light at the end or anything.  The light did not hurt my eyes.

Did you meet or see any other beings?           No

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? Yes

Somehow in this dream I wanted something to fold the T-Shirt up for me as proof that something spiritual existed in this universe.  I suppose I was attempting to move an object without touching it myself.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          Yes

I saw myself - so vision was working.  I saw light when I re-entered my body.  I felt the re-entering of what I think was my spirit through my right hand side of my body.  I heard the electric vibration of re-entering (as I call it).  So I guess vision, sound and skin played a working part.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   No

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes

Yes - special knowledge that there is something universal out there although I am at a loss to understand it.  This is why I got onto the internet - I needed to find out more about it and whether other people have experienced this.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?             Uncertain

Didn't notice a boundary as such, but also didn't want to stay out there because I wanted to wake up and be normal.  It happened all so fast. I was scared something bad would happen if I didn't wake up quickly.

Did you become aware of future events?       No

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       Yes

Yes. I was scared.  I didn't want to stay where I was.  I wanted to wake up quick. I think I sub-consciously asked to get back.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         No

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes

I believe there is some kind of spirit in all of us.  I have more of an open mind to spiritual awareness. I am less scared of death and loss of loved ones.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       It hasn't changed a lot because life goes on.  But when I think about my experience, I usually want to find out more as if I am on a quest for information.  I feel happy that it happened to me, but scared also.

I told my boyfriend (who just listened and said nothing).  I told my mother (who listened and has an open mind).  I told a girlfriend who got goosebumps, and I told another friend who now thinks I am nuts!!  I don't think any of them were influenced by my experience.  I think they need to have their own experience.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  I felt frightened, intrigued, glad it happened to me and spooked.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      The best part was after when I realised I was back and not hurt.  The worst was the feeling I would awake before the spirit got back and therefore I thought I might got get back to normal again.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?        Since this experience, I have vaguely remembered another experiencelike this somewhere in my past.  I also had one experience while I was ill and pregant ten years ago, where I saw myself laying on the bed - dreamlike state.  I also had an experience 12 years ago, which I could never explain - it was with an ex--boyfriend at a hotel during the day - and we were both awake and something happened - we both felt it.  Totally unexplainable.

Now that this 3rd one has happened (or 4th experience - not sure), I am aware that it could happen again - and this time I will be ready to accept it and maybe go with it better and find out what's out there.  But I am scared.
