My other daughter and I returned the items that didn't fit, and purchased correct sizes, and a few other items we liked, and walked on toward home. When we were halfway past the park, on that street, we stopped to watch the amusing site of an angry driver who "lost" the parking spot he had been waiting for. This is a very big city, and people take parking very serious here.

While we watched the scene, a man who was absolutely a clone for my daughters father was confusedly walking up on the sidewalk side of the row of parked vehicles. He was peering into each and every car. My daughter saw him. I saw him. We both thought out loud how odd his incredible resemblance was to her father. I left him in 1999, and he had not had any contact with the girls since then. He had a bit of a problem with drink. This man had the identical appearance, even the clothing, of how the girls dad looked, in 1999. Now I know nobody looks the same for fourteen years, so I knew this could not really be the girls father. But We watched as he slowly peered around and even under a couple of cars. He glanced around the sidewalk, the park behind us. He spoke a few times, loud enough to be heard, short phrases, and we thought the phrases were as if he had a phone earpiece maybe, but we could not see one on him. He said, are they here? I don't see them. Where? I am looking. No, I don't see them here either. Where are they?

No one else on the sidewalk seemed to see him or hear him, though most did glance at me and my daughter. Of course, we were better-looking, but still.....

And then, he turned around, he stopped everything and looked at me and my middle daughter, and the confusion in his expression turned into surprise. We just stared at him, he stared at us. Then he turned his head sideways, and spoke again to invisible nobody, and said, its ok, good. I see them.

And my daughter and I watched him walk up the sidewalk and then, he was just kind of not there anymore. At the time, we were absolutely stone cold convinced we had seen one of those situations where everyone has a twin somewhere in the world, and we had seen her fathers "twin" . A twin who somehow managed to slide out of our view while we watched him. What bothered us though, was that his voice was also her fathers voice. It did seem to sort of sometimes sound like it was almost under-watery, and other times, like a bad reception phone call. But she and I were certain the man had sounded just like him.

Except, we had not seen or heard from him in over a dozen years. And he had no idea where we were living. But we mused all the rest of the way home, that maybe he had found where we were now living, and he had ventured to come up here to make amends, see how the girls grew up, or it was just a person who looked and sounded exactly like him, as we last remembered him looking, in 1999. We told the oldest daughter about it later. Then we forgot about it and went on with our lives.

Last week, I sent an invite to the family of their dad. We had all been estranged, but the older girls college graduation is approaching. I wanted to mend rifts, and invited them for a no-gifts graduation event, so they could see that the girls dad had his faults but that he had fathered amazing children who grew to become amazing adults.

The girls fathers brother emailed back. He said the girls father had had a massive, devastating stroke in may  2014. He was in a nursing facility and even now seven months later, he had no use of his left side, couldn't speak, and was considered massively brain injured, probably permanently.

I told my daughters I had located their dad, to invite him to their upcoming grad events, but that he had had a terrible stroke in may...seven months earlier.

My older daughter remembered that that was the day after her first date with her wonderful steady. My middle daughter remembered that was the day we saw the lookalike by the park as we walked home. We all just stood silent, and tried to wrap our heads around this.

Our takeaway now, is this.....he was not a very good man in many ways, to us, and when we left, all those years ago, and it was because of those things. He was not "a family man", and proved it week after week.

But when faced with what might have been his imminent death, the ONLY thing he wanted to do was find his children, see them....just see them. He had an invisible entity with him, with whom he spoke. And when he saw me and my middle daughter and all parties experienced recognition, he went back. Into his devastated body. To stay here, and work things through inside himself, rather than leave and have to do those things later.  I wonder if as he fights through his recovery, he wants to right the wrongs with his daughters.

I asked his brother to tell him, whether he could understand physically or not, to get his act together a little bit so we could bring him up here anyway, for the graduation, if at all possible.

I think his bro thinks I am nuts. Because the girls father was not a very nice man. And metaphysical stuff is freaky, anyway. But whatever, we will see. I saw what I saw, and it would seem very unkind if I were to not assist him in this small way, if he has recognized that the things that mattered to him most, were actually his children, his life, his being, and so on.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   Yes  My children's father, whom we had not given a second thought to, since 1999, was stricken with a massive brain hemorrhage so serious, he was not expected to live even past the initial event.  It has been many months, and he is recuperating, slowly.  I hope to have him and his female friend of the time when he had the stroke, to come up here in 2016 to see his daughters graduate from the university.  They will be ...both of them.....first in our families to achieve four year degrees, and grad degrees, and to enter the toughest career fields of the male dominated fields, and they  are also award winning researchers, exclusive  endowment award winners, and more.  I want him to recover and see what his daughters have. Become.  I think that is why he chose to stay, after NDE traveled and saw all they have achieved.  He will, I think, in any way possible, wish to come and see his daughters at this momentous event, for which he chose to stay and see.  While in this life.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?  The whole time.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      Normal consciousness and alertness  

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   The same, except I was able to see his expressions and even the grey beard stubble in very  minute and high definition clarity, but I was never closer than 20 feet from him, as he slowly walked past.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   I heard everything, and also his voice, as if he were closer than he was, but his voice sounded like a bad cellular connection.

Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   Uncertain   I am awaiting a chance when I can go to visit him, and ask him this very question.  His  current female pal, says he has not been very open to visitors.  And I might be something of a shock for him, so we do not want to do that to him, either, until he has healed enough and it seems like a good time.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   I was normal, but very attuned and kind of "still",,,, I didn't feel emotion so much as I felt calm and comfortable and interested in the event.  It really was quite mesmerizing.  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No  

Did you see an unearthly light?   No  

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   I heard a voice I could not identify
He was having quite a conversation with an invisible thing.  I thought a couple of times I heard a voice that was replying to him, but I was not sure.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   Uncertain  

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?   Yes   My daughters father.  And some unseen companion.

Did you become aware of past events in your life during your experience?   No   But he seemed to.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   Some unfamiliar and strange place
Well, yes....I mean, we were watching the physical body with voice of a man we had not seen in almost 15 years, who we later discovered had been at deaths door from a massive stroke.....it was very surreal, even before we heard of his condition.

Did time seem to speed up or slow down?   Time seemed to go faster or slower than usual
It seemed well paced, but slower.  Much slower, to watch.

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   Everything about myself or others
For a few moments, I felt like I maybe sort of understood some things about him.  He had been a very difficult man, and I had not thought about him all those years, until this event.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   Yes
I could not walk over to him.  Or just didn't, I just stood there, as the sidewalk full of people just moved around me, and onto their destinations.

Did you come to a border or point of no return?   I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was "sent back" against my will
I do not yet know what he did on this, I do know that his last phrases spoken indicated he was content with some kind of acquired knowledge, or choice, or that his questions at NDE had apparently been answered.

Did scenes from the future come to you?  Scenes from the world's future 
Complicated.  And went on for many days after.  I do not yet know what his takeaway from his NDE was, but this was mine, from observing his.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (�life after death�)?   Yes   Definitely there is.  I saw him, heard him, and his snippets of conversation with the unseen one.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that God or a supreme being either does (or does not) exist?   Yes   Not sure its a single being.  I saw more.  Equal, but different.  A race of beings.  God is a race?  Not a being.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that you either did (or did not) exist prior to this lifetime?   Yes   This was the third time I heard and saw a person who had died or ,,,,in this case.....who was near death.   In the first two, I saw that I knew I had more to draw from than this lifetime.  In this last case, it was effortless and beautiful to see that we are all interconnected, and forgiveness isn't necessary, it just will happen that easily, all by its self.  And more.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that a mystical universal connection or unity/oneness either does (or does not) exist?   Yes   I saw that past present future and everything in between is the same thing, from a different viewing angle.

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge or purpose?   Yes   Need more open block of time to do this.  Am 54, with a nonverbal 10 year old who is severely neurologically disabled since birth, and I also developed multiple  complex autoimmune  disorders as a result of the very tumultuous birth experience.  Arthritis, now.  Cant type all this at one sitting.  I can send emails later, bits and more, as I am able, rather than all at one sitting, as this page demands.

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   Many, many.  Was an Experience-shattering ten minutes.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience   More so.  These things always stay as if they were more real than the physical appearance of  daily "reality".

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:   Other than, "I see and hear dead people"?  Heck, I cant even TELL people about these  things.  It makes me sound batty when I try.

But inside?  A squillion changes of every possible kind.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     That at the moment of imminent death, one does have a choice, and the chance to see or resolve or ask questions, and that one is NOT ALONE.  He had a comforting companion with him.  He seemed a bit disoriented,  and very determined to see his daughters, but he was not hurting or afraid or different or upset.  He was  in pretty good shape for a guy who was at deaths door and had left his physical body, not even knowing if he would ever be able to return.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  Immediate.  My two daughters.  It has certainly changed them.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   Yes   Heard about the occasional news blip, but that was all.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   As an amazing bit of good fortune, to have seen this.
