Experience description:

First of all I have never taken any kind of recreational drugs or have had any addiction problems nor was I on any kind of medication or have had any kind of mental illness of any kind. I documented this event minutes after my experience on paper.

I was sitting on the sofa waiting for a friend to return back to the house so was reading a book on color therapy when this strange sense of deeply connecting with my inner self took over my consciousness. It first began at the point where I was able to consciously connect with every cell in my body and then my own inner voice told me that I knew I could do this 'connecting down to a cellular level of my body' all along. Like it was some kind of common knowledge at a very base or spiritual level or an awakened inner consciousness?

The more I seem to curiously concentrate on this feeling the deeper and more profound it became. It felt like 'home' and very 'natural' on some level to do this. The next aspect of this experience was that my body became very light in my torso area and I started to feel a separation of my body as it seem to float off. I was aware of two separate beings; clearly this 'floating off' part of me and my 'physical body' which was sitting on the sofa. The part that wanted to separate off from my physical being took over and wanted, yearned, desired so deeply to go towards the kitchen for some reason which was north west in direction to where I was sitting. I allowed myself to lift off but became frightened and pulled back. Within seconds I was trying this out again but in this second phase the sensations became deeper and stronger and I seem to pull out further this time. Within moments, once again I became very frightened and pulled back and returned to my normal state. I ran outside for fresh air and waited for my friend to return where I told her the story.

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes     The depth and profoundness is difficult to put into words.

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          No

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    During the second phase of the sensation.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal every day consciousness and alertness?    More consciousness and alertness than normal

If your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience was different from your normal every day consciousness and alertness, please explain:            During the second phase of the sensation.

Did your vision differ in any way from your normal, everyday vision (in any aspect, such as clarity, field of vision, colors, brightness, depth perception degree of solidness/transparency of objects, etc.)?  No       There was nothing visual about this experience; it was all mental

Did your hearing differ in any way from your normal, everyday hearing (in any aspect, such as clarity, ability to recognize source of sound, pitch, loudness, etc.)?            No

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            An intense profound knowledge, intense feeling of finally being at peace and at my real home or my destiny. I yearned to be there.  I also felt an excitable kind of fear of having this kind of power. I was able to think outside of the experience as well as inside of it; just as I was able to be out of my body but still in the physical aspect of it.

Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure?          No

Did you see a light?           No

Did you meet or see any other beings?           No

Did you experience a review of past events in your life?    No

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No

Did you see or visit any beautiful or otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions?            Yes     All the levels were emotionally and excitably beautiful and like a home coming.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   Yes     I was clearly moving from reality to some altered space and able to navigate between it for what may have been just a few minutes.

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?     Yes            Yes, definably a special knowledge and a kind of inner universal order.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure? Yes     The only boundary was my conscious self prohibiting me from totally loosing myself in this experience. I held back out of fear. I was afraid I could not come back to reality.

Did you become aware of future events?       No

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience you did not have prior to the experience?     No

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     I shared it with a friend within 10 minutes after the event and they were questioning my experience but fairly receptive

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?    No

How did you view the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:            Experience was definitely real    I was struck by the fact that I felt so powerful and that no one else in the world had experienced this incredible power. I felt alone and exclusive in this experience for some reason; like I was singled out or selected for it?  I tried to recreate the experience in days and weeks to come but it never returned to me.

Were there one or several parts of the experience especially meaningful or significant to you?            What was very meaningful now and at the time was that there was a strong voice in my head that told me I had the inner knowledge base and the power to create this experience all along. The voice said 'you knew you could do this'

How do you currently view the reality of your experience:            Experience was definitely real    It was the most real thing that has ever happened to me in my life and that my life as I knew it was not as profound as this experience. Almost like we are all waiting to get to this kind of place. Like this dimension is waiting for us?
