Experience description:

I woke early one morning after having a very vivid dream. I don't typically recall my dreams very often and this was a very real dream and it kept me from going back to sleep. I had a dream of my friend Sandy. We were in a car driving to the hospital because she was about to give birth. She already had 4 children and her oldest was in the car with a video camera to record the birth. We arrived at the hospital and had to walk down many hallways to finally arrive at the birthing center. The nurse said they had to do admitting tests before she could have a room. Sandy was getting irritated because we had to wait so long, her contractions were getting more uncomfortable and closer together. She finally got angry and insisted they do her admitting procedures NOW. They complied and drew her blood work for her. They then gave us a key to her birthing room. We were told we would have to go to the next hospital down the road and that is where we find the room ready and waiting for us. I turned and saw all of our friends there that we grew up with. They were all there to witness the birth. We had to walk back down all the hallways to get to back to the car. I remember thinking she was going to deliver before we ever got there.

Once back in the car things changed. I was in the passengers seat and Sandy was sitting in my lap facing me with her back against the dashboard. She was no longer pregnant. And she was only a torso and a head. Her limbs were gone. She was struggling to breath. Her face showed clear evidence of pain as she tried to get air. I lifted her up so her torso would hang down strait below her making it helpful for her to breath. She thanked me and a look of calm came over her face as she was able to breath. Her attacks started coming more frequently where she was uncomfortable and gasping for air. Each time I would lift her up she would thank me, Eventually, she yelled at me and told me to stop it!  She said it was becoming painful. She looked me in the eyes and she said "tell them to let me go!" Then I woke up.

I knew my friend had an aggressive brain tumor. The last I had heard just a little over a month before was that she was doing pretty good. So this dream really shook me. I contacted her sister to ask if Sandy was OK. I sent her a message inquiring about Sandy and that I had just had a disturbing dream about her. Her sister got back to me and asked me what my dream was about. I shared it with her via email. She wrote me back and asked if she could call me. I responded of course. She called me and informed me that my dream was very accurate. That they had just admitted her to hospice early that morning because she was having trouble breathing. I was in SHOCK. Her sister informed me it wouldn't be much longer. I felt that she came to me in my dream to inform her family it was time to let her go and that she wanted them to release her so she could cross over.
