Experience description:

It started as a regular dream, I was walking thru a outdoor concert venue with a friend and seen my favorite artist, Tori Amos playing her piano. I said out loud to myself 'I wonder how many Tori concerts I've been to?' I will have to ask my friend when I wake up how many times I've seen her in concert I said to myself then I realized at that point that I said 'when I wake up'? Hey I must be dreaming! Now being aware that I was dreaming it turned into a lucid dream. I was able to control my dream. So I decided to merge with a tree I saw in my dream....and it was wonderful, I became the tree. I felt the wind blowing on all my branches and felt the warmth on one side of me from the setting sun. I also tried out flying! wow it was amazing.

  the next part of my experience is when the feeling felt like it shifted from a dream to a completely conscious OBE.

  I was standing in a black void. I felt no other beings around me, just me completely by myself. Then about 15 feet or so in front of me was a very beautiful bright white light. it was shaped like you know if the sun shine is coming thru a window, well it was exactly like that. I approached the bright light and was intrigued by it. I decided to 'merge' with the light and as I leaned forward my body started to 'vibrate' I stepped back briefly as I was so puzzled to what this light meant, but then I decided that 'I know I cant get hurt, lets just do this and see what happens'. so I re-merged with the light and I cant put into words the pure feeling of love and bliss that I felt. it was amazing and I for the briefest of time felt I had a knowledge of everything and was surrounded by? god? the creator? whatever you want to call it. I never did put a label on it, I just think of it as the 'creator'..

   Then I started to come out of it, I felt my whole body shake and vibrate and as I woke up I felt a buzzing sound in my right ear, as if there were a bunch of bumble bees next to my ear.....and then it was all over.

  Ever since this first experience, I have had quite a few OBEs as well as lucid dream and a few episodes of sleep paralysis. My psychic abilities and especially my intuition has sky rocketed! ive had premonitions in my waking life, pre-cognitive dreams and I know what someone is going to say before they say it. its as if I can feel what a person is feeling before they display any emotion.

  This OBE happened shortly after I began to develop my belief system about well everything. I have always been interested in the paranormal, metaphysics and especially witchcraft. Once I decided to completely devote myself to the studies and practices of witchcraft, all these events started occurring to me including this first of many OBEs.

 Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?     No      

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? No      

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          No      

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           Completely lucid.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   the first part was until it shifted to a OBE.

 Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes     I didn't see my body at all, it was just vision that I felt but I could feel that my human body was a part of me. at least the astral part of it anyways.

 What emotions did you feel during the experience?            pure bliss and love

 Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           just the buzzing in my right ear when I returned to my body.

 LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?            Yes     when I entered the light it felt like what Christians would call a 'heaven'

 Did you see a light?           Yes     it was very bright and pure white. shaped like a window.

 Did you meet or see any other beings?           No      

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? No      

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No      

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          Yes     it felt very real when I merged with the tree. I felt the warmth of the sun and felt the breeze.

 Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   No      

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes     when I merged with the light as described above. it felt very 'god' like and I knew a great deal of knowledge but forgot it all when I returned to my physical body, perhaps because my physical brain cant retain that information.

 Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?             Uncertain      perhaps the light was a boundary of some sort?

 Did you become aware of future events?       No      

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       No       Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?   Yes     as above my intuition has sky rocketed, I have premonitions in my wake state, a few pre-cognitive dreams and more OBEs and lucid dreams.

 Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes     I no longer fear death as I am certain now that we do go on.

 How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       it dramatically changed my religious views, as before the OBE and after it as well I still don't believe in organized religion but do consider myself very spiritual. even more spiritual since the experience.

 Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Yes     as above my abilities have increased.

 Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     a few people including the radio program coast to coast am. all the experts I spoke to agreed it was a OBE and perhaps it was some kind of awakening.

 What emotions did you experience following your experience?  no dramatic changes

 What was the best and worst part of your experience?      the light was the best, the worst was returning to my body.

 Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?        no

 Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         Yes     I smoked the shamanic herb and had a feeling of bi-location when I experienced this herb.
