Jo Ann L's Experience |
Experience description:
Ashra I
Originally written November 20, 1976 – rewritten 11/26/06
A speck of white light twinkled before me
With curiosity and much interest I watched
Slowly changing into a column of white light before me
Shimmering
Glowing
Radiating with the brilliance of a diamond.
Out of the brilliance, a silhouette appeared
A figure emerged
A goddess in azure silk robes appeared
With a silver crown on her head
She shimmered and glowed
Shimmered and glowed.
“My name is Ashra” the goddess spoke.
“I am the breath you are looking for”
She reached out her hand
And touched my soul.
“Come follow me” she said.
I dissolved into her brilliant white light
I became sheer energy
Energy with no form
Pure thought
Traveling on a stream of light.
We were on the edge of time
Where time stops.
Where past, present and future synchronize
And become one.
We are looking down, not on earth
But on many worlds of light.
Speaking without words she said.
“You feel that breeze? She asked.
“It is the energy, peace, and love
Of all the lights of time.
It is the breath of life.
Feel it raise and fall.
Feel the ebb and flow.”
I breathed it in
I breathed it out.
I tuned into the vibration.
I tuned into the breath of light.
And as I did
I was absorbed more deeply
By the light.
As I went deeper and deeper in time
I could hear, faint at first
Then all encompassing
Sounds of harmonic spheres
Sounds of vibrations pulsing
Music of the first vibration then
Heavenly silence and love
Unearthly peace and harmony.
Peace and much much love.
Just peace and much much love.
Love is the source of the light.
I stayed there, I don’t know how long
Maybe an instant, or maybe an eternity.
Then slowly, ever so slowly
Ever so gently
I melted from the light.
And once again Ashra
Shimmered and glowed
Shimmered and glowed
In front of me
I stood with head bowed
In her presence.
It was sacred, hallowed, and sanctified.
I was blessed.
Ashra spoke without words
“The deeper you go
You will know
Answers are not in the mind
But in the depths of the soul.”
Slowly she dissolved into the column of white light
Slowly she narrowed into a thin white line
Then flickered into a monolithic cross – paused,
Then disappeared.
Any associated
medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?
No
Was the kind of
experience difficult to express in words?
Uncertain It
rolled out in poetic prose but the experience was so visual that words cannot
describe it. That is why I wish I could paint or work with a good visual
illustrator.
At the time of this
experience, was there an associated life threatening event?
No
What was your level
of consciousness and alertness during the experience?
This is hard to answer.
I was in a state of meditation, so my level of consciousness was elevated. I was
wholly in the experience and not aware of my physical surrounding where I was
meditating.
Was
the experience dream like in any way?
It was not dream like
in any way. The experience seemed to be as real as being awake.
Did you experience
a separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes I became shear
energy. Energy with no form. Pure thought. Traveling on a stream of light.
What emotions did
you feel during the experience?
Peace, harmony, and
love. It was a beautiful experience.
Did you hear any
unusual sounds or noises?
Sounds of harmonic
spheres
Sounds of vibrations pulsing
Music of the first
vibration

Shimmering
Glowing
Radiating with the brilliance of a diamond.

A figure emerged

Yes The whole
experiences was altered space and time.
Did you have a
sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
Yes This was
only one of 20 or 30 experiences like this.
"The deeper you go
You will know
Answers are not in the mind
But in the depths of
the soul."
Did you reach a

No Just the

worlds of light.
Did you become aware
of future events?
No
Were you involved
in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?
No
Did you have any
psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did
not have prior to the experience?
No response
This was only one of 20 or 30 experiences like this.
Did you have any
changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
It was just all so amazing. This was only one of 20 or 30 experiences like this.
How has the
experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career
choices? I
have come to believe that death is re-engaging with the light that I have danced
with so many times throughout my life.
I still don't know what
it means.
Have you shared
this experience with others?
Yes At the time, I
read a rougher version of the poem to my mother and my friends. Last November I
rewrote it as it is now. A couple of weeks ago I read this one and Ashra II -
The Mirror at a poetry reading.
These are the first two
of 20 or 30 poetic prose that I am re-writing into poetry. But again, because
they are so visual, the words fall short of the experience.
What emotions did
you experience following your experience?
Peace, harmony, and
love.
What was the best
and worst part of your experience?
The best was having
such a beautiful experience.
The worst was probably melting away from the light. But melting away from the light seemed natural and I didn't feel any anxiety like I wanted to stay there longer.
