Experience description:

Got in from work about 6.30pm, I was really tired, hungry, but thought I would lie down for a half hour and then make tea. Whilst I was lying on my bed I heard my husband come in, he came upstairs and started to do something on the computer which was outside our room. I remember thinking that I should explain that I would be getting up shortly to start tea. I got up (or thought I had) and was just about 4ft away from the bed when I realized that I felt... 'strange'. I fell to the floor on the spot and as I leaned on my right arm to push myself up, I could push my hand and wrist through the carpet. I realized I must be in some 'sort of dream' but felt that it was real and I was awake and in control. As I tried to pull the door more ajar to look into the hall where my husband was furiously typing away, it would not open enough for me to go through. I touched the back of the door and I could push my whole arm through it and it came out the other side. it was not physically uncomfortable at all (I know this must sound crazy) but rather exhilarating and exciting to be able to do this! I pushed my self through the door and was standing next to my husband. I waved my hand in front of him and realized he could not see me! But I could see him, at first the computer was a little blurry but then I could see his email. I remember looking to see what he was wearing as I had not seen him leave for work in the morning. I thought 'Wow this is great' I went to go down the stairs but was going so fast and almost fell into the wall. I can't recall actually stepping down the stairs but suddenly I was at the lounge door and could see my daughter on the couch studying. All of a sudden I could feel a strange pulling sensation and I opened my eyes. I felt incredibly alert, my heart was beating very fast and I sat up. That was it, but I remembered what my husband had on and what he was doing so I ran down stairs to check and I was right. My daughter was sitting on the couch as I had saw her earlier.

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           sleeping

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   I thought I was dreaming but awake at the same time

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes     I was definitely away from my body and wanted the experience to last longer than it did.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Excitement, exhilaration, fear only when I woke up.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           Just aware of my husband on the computer, everything normal
