Experience description:
I was attending a
silent spiritual retreat at a Buddhistic centre in South Devon, England. The
retreat involved a great deal of sitting meditation and each morning a period
of Kum Nye exercises (this is a type of Tibetan 'yoga'). During one of the
exercises, when I was standing with waist bent at about 90 degrees to the
vertical and both arms stretched out forwards, I experienced tension in the back
of my neck. I made an attempt to consciously relax the back of my neck. I
suddenly experienced what I knew intuitively to be memories from before my
incarnation in this life. I felt very emotional and had to leave the room and
go back to my bedroom, where I sobbed for an extended period. The reason for my
grief was that I had received knowing of my state before incarnation. I was in
a most beautiful state of being where there was no fear at all, only love. I
was with a small group of beings (not sure of the exact number, around 5 or 6 is
my best guess) - the beings were not in a solid form but made of colored mist,
the colors I remember were blue and pink and peachy colors. My body was
similarly not solid but misty. I knew I had to go somewhere - to Earth was my
interpretation; I was not afraid but excited by the prospect; and I felt that
the other beings (who felt something like a family or perhaps more like a 'soul
group') were all supporting me and encouraging me.
My grief was caused by
the difference between my experience of this 'before incarnation' state and the
'embodied human' state - I longed for the state of blissful, fearless love which
I had been in before.

consciousness and alertness than normal I the first few moments....I had more
sensitivity and awareness of this different, pre-conception dimension

It was different
in that I had an intensity of inner vision/memory

feel during the experience?....Two
extremes: 'being in unconditional love and being made of unconditional love';
then being in grief at no longer being in that dimension.
Did you pass into or
through a tunnel?....No....
Did you see an
unearthly light?....Uncertain....Well
the light in the pre-conception space was different. Cannot really describe it.
Did you seem to
encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?....I
encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
As described, I
encountered several beings who had bodies of coloured mist and who seemed highly
conscious
Did you encounter or
become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?....No
Did you become aware
of past events in your life during your experience?....Yes....This
is a hard one to answer - actually the experience was of a memory of before
life, not during my present incarnation
Did you seem to enter
some other, unearthly world?....A
clearly mystical or unearthly realm....As
described above, the place I went to seemed to be a spiritual realm which was
where I had inhabited before incarnation.
Did time seem to speed
up or slow down?....No....

to understand everything?....No....

future come to you?....No....
Did you have a sense
of knowing special knowledge or purpose?....Uncertain....Something
possibly about a purpose (see above) but no details
Discuss any changes
that might have occurred in your life after your experience:....Slight
changes in my life....The experience was confirming that existence is
multi-layered, deep and contains many mysteries. It did not alter the way I
live my life but it is always somehow there, and maybe continues to inform me in
some subtle way.....

of the experience?

psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did
not have before the experience?....Uncertain
As I continually work on personal development and believe I have grown in
sensitivity, it really is not possible to assess this

this experience with others?
Yes I really cannot
remember. Only with a very few people and some years after.
Did you have any
knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?....Yes
I have been interested in the paranormal, read books etc from teenage years.
What I had previously read/experienced seemed to me to have no bearing at all on
this incident

about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it
happened:....Experience
was definitely real My view of the total reality has never changed (it was 20
years ago)

overwhelming love felt in the spiritual realm was a revelation

seemed to me that another dimension opened suddenly and became available to my
normal waking consciousness; like I was experiencing two dimensions at once.
