My OBE/NDE-like experience happened sometime in July 2000. I was having a very stressful time at work. Several people, (one of them my boss) were running me into the ground with overwork and constant undeserved criticism. I was always in fear of losing my job. I struggled to do a great job, and knew in my heart that I lived up to that goal. I found myself hating them.
After one amazingly horrid day I turned to the Bible for comfort-though I wasn't really religious and not affiliated with any religion. I opened the Bible right to the part that said "Pray for your enemies." I thought "no way, I just hate these people!" Then I prayed to God, whatever or whoever God is to help me not hate my enemies so I could pray for them with a genuine heart.
All of a sudden (no trips down a tunnel, etc.) I was in the presence of Light, incredible, indescribable Light. I was shown my vanity, not in a way that was condemning, but in a way that I could see it stemmed from needless insecurity. I knew I was completely Loved in spite of what I perceived as physical imperfections. I felt enveloped in Love and Peace and Joy and knew that these were what the Light was. I Loved myself and everyone else as well.
In that space I suddenly found my mind able to contact someone from my work that I had thought hated me and communicate without any uncertainty that I Loved him. Then I was able to contact another "enemy" and tell her that I Loved her. Then as immediately as I had "left" I was back sitting on my bed the Bible in my lap. The incredible feelings of Love and acceptance lingered and I knew something life altering had happened. I will NEVER forget that experience!
My relationship with these two individuals was changed. They became my advocates. Coworkers began mentioning how patient and kind one of these individuals had become. The other contactee received a promotion she had been previously denied and she moved to another worksite.
Another side effect of the experience is I am not afraid of Death. I am convinced that this is where I will go when I die. For about three months after this event an energy, which for want of a better analogy felt like an adrenalin rush, came in rhythmic waves flowing through me. It was invigorating, relaxing and pleasant (like sexual energy, only every aspect of my body was effected). The arm pain (resulting from the repetitive motion injury sustained from overwork) which had plagued me for over 2 years disappeared completely a couple of hours after that energy began. I also had a series of inexplicable "psychic" events. I had never believed in precognition before.
It has been quite awhile since I've had a psychic episode (not since the energy left me). The very few people I've shared this experience with have not really believed me, they say it was a dream or a hallucination. I know without any doubt this really happened to me. I have no idea why I was given this gift. I know I am not as appreciative as I should be. I feel sad that the energy left me and I SERIOUSLY want to return to that Light.
I hope this is helpful to someone.
Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience: No
Was the experience difficult to express in words? Yes
What was it about the experience that makes it hard to communicate? I am unable to convey the depth of the Love, Peace, Joy and Mercy through words. The quality of the Light would be difficult to define as well. It was not like the Sun. It seemed white and pure and very intense. The communication was not verbal (telepathy?). It lacked the usual boundaries of misinterpretation due to ego or preconceptions.
At the time of the experience, was there an associated life threatening event? No
What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience? Hyper alert and aware
Was the experience dream like in any way? No. I was sitting up reading. Then I was there, then I was back.
Did you experience a separation of consciousness from your body? Yes
Describe your appearance or form apart from your body: I could not see a body. I think I was somehow engulfed in the Light.
What emotions did you feel during the experience? Intense love, peace, mercy and joy, humor!
Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises? No
Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure? No
Did you see a light? Yes
Describe: white, intense, loving, comforting, powerful, pure
Did you meet or see any other beings? Yes
Describe: I communicated with two individuals from work! I was instantly able with my mind to tell them I loved them. No distance was traveled and no time was spent. Thought was reality. I could not read their thoughts nor did I hear any return communication, but I knew without any doubt who they were and I knew they understood. I knew it more certainly than anything I've ever known in my earthly life.
Did you experience a review of past events in your life? Yes
Describe: I only saw events regarding my vanity. I did not see other aspects of my life good or miserable.
Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later? No
Did you see or visit any beautiful or otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions? Uncertain
Describe: From the Light was able to contact two other non-deceased minds, how?????
Did you have any sense of altered space or time? Yes
Describe: Seeing my self-loathing and accepting myself came before being able to share love with my "enemies", but there was no sense of time. Sequential, but instantaneous.
Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose? Yes
Describe: I know there is a place (Being?) of unconditional Love which is more powerful than anything we know of here. I know hearts here can be altered from communication conveyed from there. I know I have a purpose here and won't go home until I'm done.
Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure? No
Did you become aware of future events? No
Were you involved in or aware of a decision to return to the body? No
Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience you did not have prior to the experience? Yes
Describe: I had a dream that someone at work was pregnant. I told her about it the next day and she said "no way, I'm on birth control pills". About two weeks later I heard People at work shouting-just as in my dream. I knew this individual had just said she was pregnant. She had and she was. I had been working on a book. After the experience, I included a new character, a 2 year old with a rare form of cancer (so rare I had never seen it in 10 years in the health care field.) Shortly after that, a child of the same age, same description and same name came in for a scan. I knew before I even scanned him what I would find. Sure enough, he had that rare form of cancer. Nothing too special, but weird for me.
Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience? Yes
Describe: I was afraid of death. No longer. I believe the NDE accounts now. I hadn't paid any attention to them before. We can exist separate from our bodies. I know from personal acquaintance a being of Light and Love. I know it is the BOTTOM LINE. I question my belief in evil enemies now. I think enemies only seem to exist due to misunderstanding and ignorance.
Has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices etc.? Career choices? I am much more tolerant of others in many ways. I want desperately to bring that experience of Unconditional Love to others. I find myself being less tolerant of some behaviors such as mean gossip. I attend church, but am not affiliated with any religion. Now I try to keep in mind that I want all I do and all I say to honor that Being of Light, who I love and who loves me!
Have you shared this experience with others? Yes
Describe: Not many others. Their reactions have discouraged me as for the most part I have encountered doubt and ridicule.
What emotions did you experience following your experience? I felt the same love, peace and joy but to a lesser degree than I did there. I felt gratitude and humility. I felt I didn't deserve such an awesome experience!
What was the best and worst part of your experience? The best part was being there! I can't think anything negative about it. Even seeing my own vanity just made me laugh. The worst part was losing the energy. The next worst thing was not being believed. It never occurred to me people would assume I was lying, or crazy, they never had before even when I was lying.
Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience? I wish everyone could experience that Light. I wish everyone could have that energy and be healed of their pain and infirmity. I wish someone(s) could contact some of the world leaders from that place of complete love and communicate to them in such a way as to end the mistrust and hate. There is a power which can turn enemies into friends-I know!
Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? Yes
Describe: Yes, I know now I have a purpose here. This has made even the worst days entirely tolerable. Until I learn what I'm here for, I will do my best to bring the unconditional love I experienced there into this reality.
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience? Yes
Describe: The energy returns occasionally when I am with certain people.
Did the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience? Yes
