Clay S's Experience
![]()
Experience description:
I woke up after around 8 hours sleep. My girlfriend who was already up came in the bedroom. We had sex. I had a cigarette, and closed my eyes intending to get up soon. I next experienced a cyclic whispering in my ears which progressed to a load buzzing hum within 5-6 seconds. At that point I felt as though I was rolling sideways (I think left shoulder towards right though uncertain) at the same time as rising upwards.
I seemed to roll at least one complete turn until I came to rest with a slight bounce to and fro in a spot around 2 meters above myself. Instantly a view opened to me which i could never have imagined. I could see my body below, yet I could also see the ceiling in the opposite direction. Objects seemed to be much more vivid and defined. I could see all ways around at once yet I would focus on points. But the most astounding state I found myself in was my state of mind. I HAD NO RESTRICTION IN ACCESSING ALL I HAD LEARNED PROBABLY SINCE BIRTH. It was as though I knew it all at once. I seemed to be a point in space without body. I was contemplating the possibility I might have died. I remember thinking of all I had heard about spirits but I had given the idea as much credit as father Christmas, yet here I was in the middle of something parallel to that idea. What other conclusion was there?
Just then my girlfriend returned to the room to collect some dirty clothes for washing. I could hear the washing machine in the background on spin cycle. I saw her walk in pick up and walk back out. I looked back at myself just in time to see my body move the right arm from above my head to my chest and let out a moan. Unlike all I had heard up until now the moan seemed to reverberate within my detached consciousness. Suddenly I was sharply jolted back to my body with what felt like a smack on the top of my head. I sat bolt upright immediately in a shocked state trying to process what had just happened. I decided it would be best to get out of bed worrying I could slip out again any moment, still unsure if I might die.
Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience? No
Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? No
At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event? No
What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience? Enhanced consciousness knew all i know at once without inhibiting thought process. I had 360 degree field of view yet I could focus on points as though i had pupils. I could also hear, nothing seemed abnormal about that other than it was obviously without physical ears, until I heard my body let out a moan which also seemed internal to my detached consciousness. Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body? Uncertain My body moved my right arm, which had been laid on the pillow above my head, and rested it on my chest. It did this with a moan which seemed
to also come from inside within me. This was the point at which I returned to my body, it may have been caused by the activity.
