Experience description:

One early evening I was lying in my bed when all of a sudden I was standing in front of my body, a few feet away looking at it. It was very shocking and very unexpected. I didn't know what to do, having almost no knowledge of these incidences so I leaned over and tried to squish myself back into my physical form, which of course did not work. I remember being very upset and disconcerted at not being able to go back into my body when I found myself - again very suddenly - flying through space at a tremendous speed. I was travelling in a huge arc, thousands of miles wide, (above the earth, I think) and although I was very far away from my body I knew I was getting closer to it. I got closer and closer and finally I coukl feel the molecules in my body being pulled into it's physical form, stronger and stronger as the distance lessened. It was like some kind of metaphysical suction; I can't quite describe it accurately in words. All I know is that it was the most satisfying feeling the last few seconds as the process completed. The best was the most satisfying sort of 'pop' at the very end. I haven't had anything like this happen since then, I think because for a long time I was afraid of experiencing it again. But now I think I would welcome it, if only to experience that feeling again.

I was taking the drug 'Imovane' to aid in sleeping.

Some people think it was part of a normal dream.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  I was in awe.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      The worst was being out; the best was being pulled back in.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?        I would love to do it again. I finally feel brave enough to desire it. It was really a frightening but ultimately incredible experience.

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         Uncertain

I had another small experience a few weeks back, but nowhere near as intense.
