It is a fairly common surgery and I was not worried about anything happening to me. My religious convictions were strong, I was and still am a Christian and believed in life after death. I did not actually die my heart did not stop but I lost a large amount of ' blood. I believe my body went thru so much stress with the loss of blood that I came to a point that I was in a place between life and death. I know what a dream feels like and this was not a dream. I felt myself floating separated from my body but I felt like I was still connected to it by a rope. I was looking down it seemed, but it was as if there was no up or down in this place.

I found myself in a black place pitch black, however at the same time it was filled with light. I had no sense of fear at all I had a Feeling of great peace. I looked ahead of me and down below where I was floating, in the distance not far from me were a group of people in brightly colored robes. Even though this place was black the robes on these beings were glowing, it looked like there was a very bright flood light on them. They were wearing hoods and the hoods cast their faces in shadow so I was never able to see a face.

I believe these beings were angels and I believe this place I was at was a meeting place were angels would meet me to guide me to heaven. They communicated to me by thoughts and I spoke to them the same way, I can not remember all that may have been said but I do remember the voices were male. I realized where I was and told them that I did not wish to die, I had family I wanted to spend time with. They asked me if I was sure they said there will be many temptations in life and that life is not easy. I think they were trying to advise me that these temptations will try to destroy my relationship with God are you sure you want to go back.

I told them that I knew life was not easy and I would like to go back but whatever is the will of God is what I will accept. After I said those words I do not remember what happened, all I remember is some time after this waking up in my hospital room.

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes, It was hard to explain what it felt like and to describe what I saw in words

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           I was under anesthetic

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   no

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes

Yes I could feel my spirit separated from my body but it felt as though there was a rope connecting me to my body I was not totally out of its reach. I could not see my body. I could not see arms legs but they may have been there

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           no

Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure?          No

Did you see a light?           Yes, I did not see a light as in a light at the end of a tunnel but everything I saw was being illuminated by light as though a bright light was being shined on everything.

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes

I saw several beings there were dressed in different colored robes  with hoods they communicated with thoughts  no audible words and I communicated back with thoughts also.

Did you experience a review of past events in your life?    No

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No

Did you see or visit any beautiful or otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions?           Yes

I WAS IN A LARGE VOID FLOATING ABOVE A GROUP OF BEINGS WHETHER THEY WERE FLOATING AT A LOWER LEVEL OR STANDING ON A SURFACE I COULD NOT TELL.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   Yes

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    No, I SEEMED TO HAVE A CHOICE TO STAY IN THE DIMENSION I WAS IN AND THAT IF I WENT BACK I WAS REMINDED THAT LIFE IS HARD AND THERE A MANY TRIALS AND TROUBLES

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       Yes

I STATED THAT I WISHED TO GO BACK TO MY BODY BECAUSE I WANTED TO SPEND TIME WITH MY FAMILY BUT THAT I WOULD LEAVE THAT CHOICE UP TO GOD

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         No
