Experience description:

I think it was a dream, but was more real and vivid. I found myself inside a place. (like a building). I could look outside and see stars very close, like specks of light. Inside there were people working and one man who was in charge. In the dream I knew all of these people, but in waking life I knew none of them. I visited with 5 to 7 women all of whom I was close to. I was happy to see them and some of them were getting ready to go to work, some of them were coming back from work. The kind of work they did was helping people on earth, they would go into dreams and help people with life issues, or they would just go to people on earth and help them somehow. I was familiar with the work they did, I realized I used to do this myself before I was a person on earth, and for a moment I missed doing this, and wished I was there working again. One of the women asked me what I was doing there, and I said I needed to talk to (I said the mans name, but I can't remember it now) the man who was in charge of the place. I hugged many of the women and told them good bye. I went over to the man in charge and was having a conversation about my life on earth. "Why was it so hard" was the main focal point.

The man told me that he tried to warn me but I wouldn't listen. I was confused, and in a split second a memory was given to me, not shown but experienced. I remembered going to earth to be born, I was very happy and exited and couldn't wait to go live in a physical body on earth. The man in charge was pleading with me to wait, "it's too soon, it's not time yet" the man kept telling me as I was darting very happily to earth. (I was born two months early, and barely weighed 4 lbs.) That moment I knew why I was premature birth.

     Then the man told me most people choose 8 to 10 helpers that help them through life on earth, and help them accomplish what they are supposed to do, but I was in too much of a hurry and only chose 2 helpers. (I wish now that I would have asked who those helpers were, but at the time it didn't seem important.) I was shown why a certain person came into my life and remains a part of my life, this person had agreed to be a helper to me because I had only 2 'real' helpers.

   As soon as I returned to my body, ( if this was an OBE it felt like one) I woke up and knew so many things about my life I hadn't known before. It made more sense to me somehow.( NOW, I can't imagine being so exited to go to earth and live, but I was, and often wonder why). I've since tried to induce an OBE to go back to this place, without success. I'm curious if anyone else has had any similar experience?

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? No      

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          No      

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           Very Conscious

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   It happened during sleeping hours, but didn't seem like a dream.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Uncertain      Still wondering if it was just a very lucid dream, or if it was real.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Happiness, excitement, content while I was there with beings that I somehow knew and loved.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           No.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?            Uncertain      It wasn't heaven but was a part of the heavens. The experience went against my whole belief system at the time. I was familiar with the place when I was there, but had never seen it before.

Did you see a light?           Yes     Many very small lights outside the building.

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes     They were inside the building, there were between 5 and 8 beings and at the time I knew them all and was happy to see them.

 Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? No      

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No      

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   Yes     Time was somehow different. the experience of darting down to earth seemed the same time as what at the time was now. everything was now.

 Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes     I know I wanted to live here on earth, and that's why I am here.

 Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?             Uncertain     

Did you become aware of future events?       Uncertain     

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       Yes     I went to visit and get answers under the knowledge that I would return to my body.

 Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         Uncertain     

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes     My entire belief system has changed. More spiritual.

 How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       My religious beliefs have changed.

 Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         No response           

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     They believe I had an OBE.

 What emotions did you experience following your experience?  Knowing, content, responsible for every thing in my life.

 What was the best and worst part of your experience?      The best part was seeing those beings again, and knowing I wanted to live on earth. The worst part was I wanted to stay there and do the job (again) the other women were doing, but knew I couldn't.

 Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?        The second I had a question, or experienced confusion, immediately it was answered. Communication was telepathic and it was so fast, I actually experienced the memory of coming to earth and the guy pleading with me to wait.

 Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?         No
