As far as I know it was a routine delivery. 

I was two contractions away from delivery. When this very hard contraction began , a doctor  administered ether  to me by covering my nose and letting me breath in.  Ether was used at that time. 

Instead of losing conciseness, I had the sensation of doing  back flips.  In my mind I did 3 back flips and flipped right out of my body. 

The next thing that I was aware of was leaving this world in a very fast assent ion.   It was night time here in Dallas.  I saw the moon and the stars and the earth as I went further than even the stars. 

All this time I was wide awake and very conscious of what was happening to me. 

I remember thinking "Oh no, I don't want to die.  I am not ready to die.  I am not good enough."  This was even though I was in church every Sunday and was living a "good life."  I was just aware of my imperfections.

As I got further and further from the earth I was aware that I was not concerned with the  things of this world. I was not concerned about the baby, leaving him or anything in this world. 

 Half way between earth and eternity I stopped.  I came to a place where there was nothing but "Peace." The peace was thick as a pound cake.  I did not see anything or hear anything.   But this was the most wonderful experience that I have ever had. I believe that the place that I I stopped to rest was in the heart of God.   

When people die and someone says, "May he rest in Peace.  May she rest in Peace," they may not know it but there is a place where people do "Rest in Peace after they leave this world. 

I do no know how I knew - but I knew that this  place where I stopped to rest was half way between the earth and eternity.  I knew that after I rested for a while, I was going to go back to earth or I was going to continue on to eternity.  I cannot remember being concerned about which  it would be.. 

Then without warning, I started back. Again  I went in a flash. 

I knew when I came into the building. I knew when I came into the delivery room.  I knew when I came into my body. 

My first thought was that I must have already had the baby because I did not have any  pain.  Then in a few seconds after returning to my body I did feel the pain.  I knew that my baby had not yet been born. 

Then  another contraction started.  Again the doctor administrated the ether.  I thought  that  I was going to "Go" again - out of my body  but this time I just went out - but I  did not   leave my body.  That was when my wonderful son Michael was born.  

 However, because of my leaving this place of peace, I felt very disappointed. I  experienced a grief - such as a loss of something very wonderful and dear.

I  it took me  three days   to  get over the disappointment of coming back.. 

I never told my doctor about this experience.  I do not know if I had a problem in delivery or not.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   Uncertain  My child was being born.  I was at the time of the most difficult part of childbirth

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  No    

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    At all times

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      More consciousness and alertness than normal   Everything was crystal clear.

wonderful peace that had every good emotion that could be had.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   Yes   I have had several dreams.  I have experienced several happenings in my- life.  I could write a book/

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     That there is a place that is nothing but 'PEACE.'

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  I have share this and other happenings many times.  I would say that they were well received.  However it is difficult for others to see the depth of the story.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   No  

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   It was something that I could never have thought up.   Also I have never heard a story like mine..

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   It was so real an so out of the ordinary.

I have never encountered it before or up to the present for anyone else.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   Not my family - but a friend told me that my emails had  brought 2 families in Ohio to Christ.

Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?   No

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience?   It was a complete surprise.  I never ask for  or wanted any kind of an encounter  or experience.
