Experience description:   

I was dreaming about flying in a park when I became lucid, as I have since I was a child.  As I was enjoying the flying experience in the dream an ice-cream truck came in to the park below me.  It was blasting very unpleasant music and made me want to get out of the dream. 

I remembered in my waking life I had heard of someone flying up and out of the sky in their dream and I looked up to see the sky in my dream.  I said, with intent, that I wanted to go up and out of the sky above me.  I was instantly projected upward with great speed.  It felt like I was being sucked up a vacuum hose.  When the sensation stopped, I was floating above the earth with stars around it and me. 

The earth changed from a globe into a flat surface in front of me. The land and water were sparkling, like different colored jewels.  The beauty was dazzling and the joy and love I felt was overwhelming.  I became profoundly aware of the special ness of the earth and I felt grateful for life.  I then became aware of the darkness and space around me and became scared.  The instant I felt that, I felt myself do a back flip into a very comfortable place, like a big pillow.  My "eyes" were closed and I opened them just enough to experience a radiant, brilliant light. 

Before I was able to totally open my eyes, I heard a loud beeping sound and woke up to the alarm clock beeping.  I woke up looking at my white closet door which was glowing in the morning sun.  On the whiteness I perceived what I can only say was a holographic image of the earth, about the size of a large beach ball.  It was there for about 5 seconds before it faded leaving just the door behind it.

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience:  No

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  No

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?  very alert, high level of consciousness

Was the experience dream like in any way?  more real than normal dreams

Did you experience a separation of consciousness from your body?  Yes

Describe your appearance or form apart from your body:  I was mind, no body

What emotions did you feel during the experience?  intense love and joy

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?  Not during, but after the experience I went to where my husband was taking a shower.  The sound was intense, like I was just getting used to the sense of hearing all over again.

Did you pass into or through a tunnel or enclosure?  Yes

      Describe:  When I went up through the sky, it felt like I was being sucked up a tunnel by the back of my neck.

Did you see a light?  Yes

      Describe:  see above

Did you meet or see any other beings?  No

Did you see or visit any beautiful or otherwise distinctive locations, levels or dimensions?  Yes

      Describe:  The light felt like a distinct location, like a higher plane

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?  Yes

      Describe:  Floating above the earth the space around me felt endless

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?  Yes

      Describe:  I knew that everything is beautiful and that life is an amazing experience.  Also, I knew that we keep evolving after our bodies have given up, i.e. death

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?  Yes

      Describe:  The light was a boundary.  The synchronicity of the alarm just as I was opening my eyes was just too perfect.  I wasn't meant to visit that realm yet.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience you did not have prior to the experience?  Yes

      Describe:  I have had paranormal experiences since childhood.  After this OBE experience they have become more consistent.  I also have become experienced with energy shifts in my consciousness.  I can feel myself "speed up" and exit from the back of my head when I change consciousness.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?  Yes

      Describe:  I just feel joy and love much more often and more deeply

Has the experience affected your relationships?  Daily life?  Religious practices etc.?  Career choices?  I am open and loving. People close to me feel that.

Have you shared this experience with others?  Yes

      Describe:  Most often people are amazed and supportive

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  joy, love

What was the best and worst part of your experience?  best:  the feelings of love

worst:  that it ended before I was able to experience the light fully

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?  no

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?  No

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?  Yes

      Describe:  In dreams or just as I am falling asleep I will sometimes feel myself speed up and pop out of my body.
