Experience description:

I decided to go to bed early and read. The book was boring, so I decided to listen to some music. My Hi-Fi was on the landing, to avoid upsetting my neighbor. The Hi-Fi not being on our adjoining walls was acceptable to her. I put one of my speakers in the bedroom, leaving the door ajar. I fell to sleep listening to the radio. I awoke and heard the music, thinking I should turn it off. I did not, and drifted back into sleep. I later woke, and did turn off the music. The time was 2.40am. I was falling to sleep again, when I heard music coming from next door. I had upset my neighbor.

I was in bed on my right side facing the window. The headboard was against our adjoining walls. My neighbor put her radio up against the wall and turned the volume up full blast. The noise went straight down my ear, pain shot down my ear, down my arm and through my body. I lay paralyzed, unable to move or blink.

I could hear music when I left my body. I floated out of my body and started to go towards the door. All the time I could see flashing colored lights all around me. I asked myself, What is happening to me? Is this a Dream? Is this an Hallucination? I was frightened, and wanted it to stop. I reached the top of the door, and in through the gap of the door, floated a lighted torch. I took the torch in my hand and threw it to the other side of the room. I turned back to the door, in floated a teddy bear, which i also threw away.

I was facing the door in a upright position one minute the next i had turned round to the left and was floating on my back, facing the wall adjoining my neighbors. My head was leaning on my right shoulder and my right arm seemed twisted. I could see my body, but could not feel it.

The room was bright and I was looking at a dress that was hung on my bedroom wall. My gaze was fixed on this dress taking in all its details. I knew it was not possible to see this dress from the position I was laid in bed, this frightened me again. Then this beautiful white light wrapped itself around me, it felt amazing it was so bright  and for a moment I felt safe. Then fear hit me and I thought, please go away, leave me alone. The next thing, I was back in a upright position coming down. I reached the floor and touched my bed in a sitting position. I whooshed back into my body. I lay there, it was 3.05am, I could not believe what had just happened.

I can understand how people feel spiritual about these experiences, because at first I really did believe I left my physical body. I had two experience prior to my oobe, but dismissed them when they happened.

1. I woke up in bed to see to men stood at the bottom of my bed, I did not recognize these men, but one was wearing glasses. I blinked they did not go away. I blinked again, and this time they faded away. It did not frighten me I just turned over and went back to sleep.

2. I again woke up one night to see my son stood in the bedroom doorway, the light was out but I clearly recognized my son. He was 5 years old and often got up in the night to go to the toilet. I asked him to get back into bed, I got no response, I asked a second time still no response. I do not know what made feel at the side of me in bed, but I did. To my horror my son was in bed fast asleep. This experience frightened me, I just dived under the covers and held on to my son till morning.

These experiences happened in the two weeks prior to my oobe.
